I think in general artistry is just really important in figure skating - over time as the sport evolves people are doing more and more difficult jumps But even with girls landing quads these days, no one will look back at Yuna and Mao and say their performances were bad because they didn’t do quads Similarly, people won’t look back and say Plushenko and Yagudin were bad because they didn’t land 4-5 quads like currently competing men So maybe in the far future when men will be landing 4 quints in their competitions, Yuzu will still be remembered for his legacy and artistry These things will always stay relevant no matter how many difficult jumps skaters have to do

I feel like everyone (besides Yuzu antis) does find the 40+ points gap between Yuzu and Nathan at GPF really fishy tbh Sadly biased judging is not new at all in figure skating and this problem isn’t specific to Yuzu too, there has been many instances of questionable judging e.g. Sochi 2014, Salt Lake 2002 etc and not to mention the small fed skaters

Plot twist: Yuzu is skating to Somebody to Love for the Worlds Gala That video is so adorable though!! And yes it’s amazing to have such a large group of people here who all share the same love for Yuzu because I don’t have anyone to fangirl with in real life too :’)

There’s one on his 2010 rostelecom cup sp (his first senior season) that says “Hanyu is utterly exquisite. He will be the greatest ever.” Got goosebumps reading it cos it turned out to be totally true

I’m honestly very skeptical about how realistic it is to land 4A in competition in a month’s time when he said he hasn’t landed it yet in practice I think he said he would hope to make an attempt but he doesn’t think he’ll land it successfully if I remembered correctly? (Someone correct me if I’m wrong haha) Then again we never fully know what he’s thinking because he’s so enigmatic

Oh I mean like... the very very first time he stepped on the ice HAHA unless he could skate right from the very moment he first stepped onto the ice 😱 Wow she must have seen his talent right from the beginning then?

Ahh so she’s Yuzuru’s very first coach?? I can’t imagine how it feels to see the kid who couldn’t even balance on ice yet back then... become a two-time Olympic champion two decades later and know that you were the one who started his journey 😱 must feel incredible haha

Dear Yuzu, You may never read this, but I admire you so much and you have made such a positive impact on my life. Your skating itself is such art and definitely one of the most exquisitely beautiful things I have ever seen! I admire you as a person as well: your determination and strength has really inspired me to push through adversity in my life and I do hope one day I can get to meet you and thank you for being such an inspirational role model ❤️

Haha I have no idea tbh but I’m pretty sure he has to use a simple moisturiser at least? Being in super cold weather really makes your skin cracked and flaky haha from my own experience XD
