He really is! Tbh if I were him I’d freak out if they told me I had to jump 17cm higher and takeoff with 10% more speed but he just went like oh 17cm is just the length of my hair 😂

I’m obviously no expert, but I’m guessing bulking for the 4A would probably involve his lower body as well! There’s a TV program from a while ago that included this hologram thing and they told Yuzu he has to jump 17cm higher to achieve his 4A haha so I guess to achieve that much more height in the jump he would need more strength in his legs, probably the quadriceps. And of course he has been bulking his upper body as he needs more pectoralis strength to pull in the arms faster and stronger

I’ve been rewatching this recently and wondering... how is that lucky lady at 4:08 who caught his shirt? Does she still keep the shirt? How did she feel being the owner of the shirt and watching him grow from a promising young talent into the GOAT? And of course the iconic “Ladies and Gentlemen, we are going to take a brief intermission before Yuzuru Hanyu loses all his clothing!” is hilarious and never gets old XD And yes at 4CC Yuzuru was doing an amazing job being his own translator!

Continuing the topic on Yuzu's English: I do think he's actually pretty good at it lol I recall him saying in an interview somewhere "I'm really livid" (probably in kuyashii mode after making mistakes) and was surprised by his vocabulary which is amazing for someone who only picked up English later in life! (I mean like not as a child haha)

Well he has won 100% gold in Finland competitions (WC2017, GP Helsinki, Finlandia 2012, Finlandia 2013) so yes you can bet he loves Finland a lot X) Happened to chance across this VERY old video of Yuzu... all the way back when he was doing single jumps lol And wow he already seemed like an ambitious child then! The way he raised the trophy haha

Agreed! With Yuzu’s skating the spins and jumps all feel like a part of the choreography which blends into the performance For some other skaters it feels like these technical elements are just stuff they have to get through in order to get the points, but Yuzu makes it art

As Tracy Wilson said before he’s surely a “student of the sport”, he can probably do a test on the history of figure skating haha Also speaking of elements named after skaters, I wish we had an element named after Yuzu, his name deserves to be carved into the history of the sport in this manner as well. Idk like maybe calling the back counter-3A the “Hanyu Axel” or something haha
