  1. I didn't check when they remove those, I assumed it'd be at the start of the next season. Do they do it as soon as WC end? When does the season officially end/start? WTT still counts as the current season, doesn't it?
  2. I know nobody cares about ranking in FS, but I got curious so I did some calculations to see what will happen after WC. Current ranking is 1=Shoma, 2=Nathan, 3=Yuzu. Shoma is #1 since he got his 4CC title (which Yuzu & Nathan skipped), but if I understand the ISU rules correctly, only one "ISU world championship" (which includes 4CC/EC/WC I guess) result is counted at the end so he won't gain much after WC even if he wins the whole thing, whereas Nathan and Yuzu will up their score significantly if they get a good result. In short: -Nathan is assured to finish #1 as long as he is on the podium at WC. If Nathan is 4th or 5th, Yuzu can clinch the #1 ranking spot with a victory or silver medal, respectively. -While Yuzu has a very small chance to get #1 (see above), he is at least assured to be #2 if he finishes 4th or better at WC. And even if Yuzu is 5th at WC, Shoma needs to win the competition to beat him to #2 ranking. -Shoma will likely finish the year #3. Even with a gold medal, he needs Yuzu to be no better than 5th and Nathan 8th to beat them. Considering the gap between the Yuzu/Shoma/Nathan trio and the rest of the field this season, very unlikely. Even if you want to add Boyang in the mix as a serious medal hopeful for instance, it would take a considerate bombing from Yuzu and/or Nathan for Shoma to finish better than #3. So, pretty much 90% chance of having 1=Nathan, 2=Yuzu, 3=Shoma after WC. Again, not a big deal really. Still interesting to see that even with missing half of the season twice in a row, Yuzu is still in the mix for the top ranking spots since, whenever he competes, he gets excellent results (by a normal person standard). By the way, ISU has a bit of a weird ranking system if you ask me.
  3. I'd nominate RusFed for a Razzie I think
  4. Jun....... Ankles?? Bad skates?? Really ? Please take care. Why is the korean fed making him skate so much in one season?
  5. I have no idea what is happening, but Nobu is just too much
  6. Oh, I'm not worried about them. I just thought it was a bit strange of JSF to say that when footage of him on ice has already leaked. Yes, "rehab" vs "training" is what I meant to say but you and @makebelieveup said it better than me
  7. Do you think saying this could be a way to be diplomatic about the fact that he missed nationals? To avoid trouble with a certain category of people? Or maybe he doesn't consider it "training" if it doesn't reach a certain level of difficulty? Anyway, sending all positive thoughts to him for a good recovery
  8. It'd be pretty similar to this shot basically (sorry, found it on Google and couldn't track the original source)
  9. I'm fairly sure that Yuzuru won't be present at the ceremony (but please, prove me wrong, Yuzu, and show up in a gorgeous hakama ), but maybe we'll get a message by video if he wins? One can dream that yesterday's video was a teaser that was filmed on the same day... (if not, at least we got one video out of it ) It cracks me up to see how Laureus jumped on the fanyu bandwagon on Twitter. Pretty sure they did not expect such a response when they nominated our overlord. Olympic Channel has some competition now Meanwhile ISU is still clueless
  10. Lol, and Olympic Channel answering to the Laureus tweet too. Whoever manages the channel really is a die-hard fanyu (or a smart planner)
  11. Well, I imagine that Laureus asked for it (at least that is my personal interpretation of their tweet though I could be wrong) and it surely didn't come from Yuzuru himself, aka the social media black-out master. But maybe somebody else convinced him indeed? Regardless, I'm happy to see it.
  12. It's interesting that Laureus apparently got Yuzu to do the video because of the massive Twitter reaction to his nomination. The fan power is impressive, as always. Don't know if it will influence the voting, but it's always nice to see such strong support. Aaah, how happy Yuzuru makes us today. In this cactus season, a message to his fans is a welcome oasis He gives us strength before worlds. Heal well, Yuzu
  13. Game on! Of course it is top secret. Of course. Did anyone believe Brian when he said before that he did not know whether Yuzuru had started jumping yet? Brian is a media troll master when needed.
  14. But what a beautiful fantasy Worth it.
  15. Gotta love Roman here. But if someone is squirming away from you... maybe, just maybe, read the cue? Also, the fact that he went for the classic "hand-on-shoulder" move afterwards makes the whole "innocent confusion" act both hard to believe and absolutely hilarious (and we love you for it, Roman) He's so funny.
  16. That's my view as well. Of course I want him to win, but he has nothing to prove and I'll be happy to see him do what he enjoys the most - skating. (well, I say that now but I'm sure I'll go back into nervous mode once worlds begin...)
  17. Isn't he? He's literally looking back at his "competitors" after the first turn to see how far behind they are Well, we all know how it ended....
  18. It's... almost painful to see actually. The Yuzu Laureus tweet has 1000+ likes and retweets and the other athletes less the 10. I mean, the other candidates deserve some attention too.
  19. I also feel a bit of clumsiness (by lack of a better word) in the retweet rather than real shade from Miki tbh. And I don't think the earphone comment is that bad? She was just teasing him and he agreed with her?
  20. So it's official, skaters use YT videos to review their performance. Come on, YT, don't erase all skating videos
  21. Wow, serious attacks by Yuzu-Javier feels. If anybody is looking for me, I'll be sobbing in the corner over there.
