  1. Whoever posted the beach towel a few pages ago... I found some swim trunks to wear with it... https://www.amazon.com/Cartoon-Fashion-Yuzuru-Master-Shorts/dp/B07BGXNK8H
  2. Whatever you're selling here, I'm buying it.
  3. I voted too! Yuzu for men’s obviously, and Ledecka for the women’s side. I’m still completely blown away that she managed to win gold in two different sports at the Olympics. I definitely don’t want to see KD win... I lived in OKC long enough for those nerves to still be raw. Come on, universe! Please let Yuzu defend my hometown’s pride!
  4. Video recording isn’t usually allowed at any major competition. But the rule apparently gets followed and enforced in Japan.
  5. Today was one of those days where I just couldn't do ANYTHING right on the ice. And of course it was the first time I could go during the day after the kids went back to school so I was really looking forward to it! Three turn? Let's just either drag the toepick the whole time or stick my foot down as soon as we're backwards. Spin? Falling off the back of the blade is fun too! Just good old-fashioned forward stroking? TOEPICK. Waltz jump? Of course, that's the one time I couldn't find my toepicks today. At least my spirals are starting to look like actual spirals with my foot near hip height? That's the one saving grace of today's practice session.
  6. 6 short programs at the senior level
  7. Nevermind, gotta think of something else for 6...
  8. Didn't she just talk about working on 4F in an interview this week???
  9. It took me a second to realize the "him" in your sentence was referring to Mura and not a certain someone else. That's probably for the best to avoid mass satellite casualties, really. Didn't stop me from being disappointed at the realization though...
  10. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you on the Planet! It's been really fun being here with you, and especially getting to meet some of you in Canada. May all of our Christmas wishes of healthy ankles come true!
  11. 177 - it's shallow, but I don't think anyone's mentioned it yet and I saw a picture that reminded me just how much I love it... the way his mouth quirks up at the right side.
  12. Like you, I have mixed feelings. I do like the convenience, and I like that I’m not chasing down a stream to watch a comp. The stream itself has been good quality as well, with no major issues even when Yuzu skates. I also generally prefer watching without commentary so not having commentators for everything aside from SA was nice. The downsides: during Skate America it was really odd that they still had the stream cutting out for commercials even though there were no commercial breaks. Also, not a big fan of the fact that the galas aren’t included (except for SA) and I don’t think that was clearly communicated prior to buying the pass. Overall, I’ll probably renew it just to have a reliable source to watch skating. It’s expensive but on the whole not too bad, and I guess subscribing shows there is an audience in the US outside of the Olympics.
  13. Dai can't go to 4CC either - there's a TES minimum for that too. He would have had to do a GP or Challenger to qualify. Just more proof that he truly isn't interested in skating internationally this season, I think. Not that it's going to stop people from saying stupid stuff about Yuzu stealing his spot on the Worlds team, but I doubt there's any way to keep that from happening. Best to just ignore them, probably.
  14. I’m sad for Yuzu that he had to WD from nationals, because I’m sure he’s frustrated that he can’t compete there. But I am so, so glad that he’s taking the time off he needs to heal.
  15. So far, I've jinxed someone to the bottom of the pack every time. Camden, Keegan, Satoko, and Anna, I'm sorry... I should have had more faith in Gogolev. I didn't have him on my podium at all because I thought nerves would get him again, but I did tell my husband that he'd either be on top of the podium or off it entirely when I was making my picks.
  16. Yeah, I got way higher jump BVs as well. I got 99.01 for Nathan and 77.26 for Yuzu. And the article's from February, so you can just pull the jump values straight from the protocol, no need to go look things up on the new tables.
  17. I landed a tiny tiny waltz jump tonight! I sort of thought that landing a jump backwards was insane and something I'd never be able to do, but... here we are. Taking up ice dance definitely sounded like a good idea when my coach was walking me through how to actually do the jump, though. I also had my right blade adjusted in for pronation issues, so that has been interesting. I can definitely get to that right outside edge easier but everything was just a little different until I adjusted.
  18. Junior men is so unpredictable - I ended up just going with my gut feeling. It’ll be interesting to see if Gogolev (as the first alternate) can keep nerves from getting to him in Canada again.
  19. Keegan's hometown had a 7.0 earthquake today. Thankfully, so far no fatalities reported, and he and his family are okay.
  20. So, uh, did you actually do this? Because it ended up working better than you probably expected...
  21. I’m glad he’s taking the time he needs to rest and heal, although there was a bit of me holding out hope that the injury wasn’t as bad as we first thought. Yuzu, if you’re lurking, rest up and take care of yourself. Your fans will be here supporting you all the way.
  22. This was one of my better weeks? Maybe? I think? I thought I was finally going to get a podium right with pairs but a combination of a disaster-ish free skate for B/K and horrible judging for R/K messed that up...
  23. I just cracked up laughing in front of my entire family because of this thread and I’m pretty sure they all think I’ve gone insane...
