  1. I don’t think there’s much point getting too worked up about anything apart from possibly BV as the judges seem to do whatever they want with impunity.
  2. I think it’s the difference between inside and outside edge on the hydro blade? Plus his insane flexibility that enables him to get really low without looking awkward or stressed, just an elegant curving seemingly effortless movement ? I think the outside edge hydro blades look a little clumsy - I can appreciate their place in the choreography of certain programmes, like Akiko’s Kill Bill, but more often than not they look like too much effort for minimum impact. Yuzuru is the exception- he makes it look as natural as a crossover.
  3. O m g please noooo . It’s right up there just behind Rooooooxaaaaannnnee...
  4. Sounds like too many supermassive egos in one club - hope there’s enough room in Plushys rink for them both......
  5. You’d need a cast of seriously scenery chewing actors to really get the drama across.
  6. Impossible choice. Seimei is so very much him - his vision, Japanese in every respect, from the story, to the film with Nomura’s performance, to the costume, to the music, as well as all that effort to get the music cut exactly right, that it feels as though it should be the automatic choice. No one else could have done it because no one else would have put in all that effort. But Chopin is forever my personal favourite if you force me to choose one. Chopin’s music is as difficult and intricate as Yuzuru’s skating, it’s not storytelling, or character driven, but two and a half minutes of pure but strangely serene intensity with no play acting to hide behind . And he’s done it so beautifully so many times. The two together have got to be the greatest pairing ever after 2015 GP.
  7. I sort of hope the Samsonov rumours are true tbh after Aidan Pitkeev......
  8. Doesn’t matter if the cacti are not real - they capture the mood Speaking of which Olympic channel should be very careful encouraging people to copy these moves - apparently the simple ‘clap for the NHS ‘ on Thursday nights is causing extra A&E visits - I dread to think what would happen to my joints if I substituted my low level exercise for Yuzuru’s ‘dance’ .🤕 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-52506114
  9. I hope he steps up and turns out to be a good choice for them. It would be good to see Rusfed spread the candy around a bit.
  10. Short round one with shocking pink flowers for me🌵🌺
  11. I was getting very little sleep during the men’s competition at PC - I had to stay up til the small hours and then couldn’t sleep so I watched everything I could find in English and really regretted it at times. Should have stuck with Belinda.🤷🏼‍♀️
  12. @rockstaryuzu - Hamilton as a pundit at PC really got on my nerves - he’s like the Tim Daggett of skating (or maybe Daggett is the Hamilton of gymnastics, not sure of their respective timelines) - obnoxiously patriotic
  13. Aaaah - can I endure poisonous little Scott H in order to hear what Tracy and Brian have to say..... ?
  14. On paper Pluschenko hasn’t had much coaching success, but this is a bit like Shoma going to Stephane- the jumps are already there, give her some choreography that suits her, and a bit of personal space and who knows? I don’t regard him as an elegant performer any more than she is but he’s got bags of personality and so does she - he may bring that out while other coaches drill the technique. Tarakanova - I’m not that familiar with her but I got the vague impression that she was a somewhat flaky personality? Trusova gives the impression of steely determination. And Plushy might be keen to score some points off his critics.
  15. I love the Phantom’s fingers curling one by one into his palm as his hand drifts out of view....
  16. And no boards to get in the way. Also laid on sand rather than concrete according to BO which he seemed to think was an advantage- more shock absorbing perhaps? Bit like a sprung dance floor?
  17. The UK. Vets are only taking emergency cases and no new registrations.
  18. @SitTwizzle I rang the small animals practice annexed to our local university's Veterinary Science department and the advice was not to get a kitten until the lockdown is lifted.
  19. Off topic really, but I am just ready to consider a kitten after losing my old cat last year, and being at home does seem like a good time - but with vets closed for anything but emergencies for the foreseeable future there is no chance of getting them health checked, vaccinated, chipped or neutered. I am having to restrain myself from looking at the kittens needing homes ads. Got to be practical.
  20. I loved Kaoris Matrix costume also Eunsoos Cappricio Espagnol and Azuzas P&P
  21. She’s an adult , but a very young, inexperienced one who has led a very sheltered life which she has only recently broken away from. I don’t agree at all with what she’s doing- tbh it looks like the behaviour of a spoiled brat, especially when compared with the Japanese skaters who are being so supportive of the health measures in a very low key way and the Canadians who have been so cheerfully stoical. However she’s young and she has a management team who should either be restraining her if she’s the tin ear in the company, or who she should be ditching if this has been their advice. I don’t think any country has actually been forcibly repatriating it’s citizens ( though I’ve been reading about quite a few individuals who made bad decisions to stay a bit too long too far from home and rather wish their governments had been) so expecting Russia to load them all onto a jet out of there is not being realistic- this might feel like a disaster film but it’s real life and governments have bigger issues to deal with. She needs to pull back fast and stay off social media. This is not a time for personal aggrandisement.
  22. 🎂 everyone, and 💐to everyone who makes it all work so well
  23. Olympics Chopin was such a huge relief, watching it in the small hours of the morning, after all the waiting and the teaser practices, that I can’t view it objectively as part of a body of work - it was the ‘he’s back ‘ moment and hindsight of the fact it was on painkillers and sheer willpower still doesn’t diminish the impact - for me it will always be the best, though I always have a soft spot for Murder face Chopin of NHK 2015.
