  1. What? SP??? My nerves are devouring me...
  2. But like, when the title came up a few hours ago, no body from the media should have known the fs music by then, right???? It's probably just the Japanese media, who're always obsessed with jumps and jumps only. I hope Good fun catching up with the thread. Though I knew fs hadn't been revealed on the spot because the page count was not 880+
  3. Why say new layout not new program???
  4. Just found out that DW and Shea-Lyne have collaborated before: Pang/Tong's 09-10 LP which helped them break a WR in Vancouver (and get silver despite a disappointing SP). Hmmm before I thought it unlikely that they do it together but now it's giving me ideas...
  5. There are two days of open practice! On the 8th it starts at 2:30 & There will be interviews afterwards. On the 9ths 1:30 and afterwords it's interview for magazines. Source
  6. It is just past 1 pm in Toronto. It could be happening right now, but we just can't know. Oh the torture!
  7. I highly suspect that's just the case, since a lot of the songs (and singers) are quite old, definitely before Yuzu's own generation, and are most likely chosen to please the general audience of Japanese ice shows which comprises of mainly middle-aged people. A hearty hug - it was exactly the same for me.
  8. The Feature Threads in the new announcement section is awesome! Want to shout out a thanks to folks that come up with it Regarding POTO, I actually like the music. Dramatic and magnificent is my cup of tea! In fact I liked it to the point that this summer when I was in London, I went to West End and bought a ticket to see the musical, mostly just for that reason I also watched Les Mis live because I love Yuna's program. Both are fantastic shows in their own right, though my constant flashbacks make them even more enjoyable for me I wouldn't mind if there's POTO2.0, but I fear the explosion and turmoil that will no doubt ensue lol.
  9. Follow whatever he does for sure. And review all the old comps and interviews. It won't get old anytime soon-I'm learning Japanese and using them as language materials. Fresh new perspective! I've never been more glad that JPN media for some reason like to put bold subtitles to most of what people says Follow skating casually as well-I suspect it might be entertaining in a novel way to watch competitions where you don't have a super invested skater. No hand-wringing, just grab a bag of chips and see what happens-looking forward to that! (though I'll still have S/H and Mai to get me nervous...just not for-Yuzu level nervous)
  10. Now that more and more unlike people have gone for warhorses, I start to have foreboding feelings about Yuzu... Olympic, what you do to people!
  11. That especially for Marin & Uno. For SH, the program that they'll constantly be compared with is SZ's. Like, Zhao is their coach, their Turandot is iconic, they won China's first Olympic title with it. Sounds a bit scary to me!
  12. You just had me envisioning a 22-years-old version of Somebody to Love. It's... comical at first, but soon turns surprisingly destructive
  13. OK. Now I don't fear any music. My only fear is if (in the unlikely but nevertheless possible case) they have the media day but don't release the music decision yet... No please I didn't jinx it no
  14. It seems that SH's LP is Turandot? Gosh, this particular warhorse carries so much legacy & pressure at the same time... What a challenge to take up. Also, the Turandot army is growing big...
  15. Are you guys having mixed feelings about cute little HILY?
  16. I seem to have developed an unfortunate reflex that every time I see "ballet" and "skating" in the same sentence I tense up and mentally prepare myself for battleBut Yuzu as always takes something that helps him improve himself from the concept.
  17. I got Parisienne Walkways! I have to confess that I grew to love his later programs more, but PW was the one that captured my my heart at the very beginning...
  18. I saw people having some alternate idea... instead of the figure in black at the end, in the beginning of the video a person in white can be seen passing in the mirror. They're wondering if it could be Yuzu in his ANA jacket. I don't know-it's virtually impossible to tell! It only goes to show the degree of our hunger right now
  19. Satoko...rest well! Ganbatte! Can't wait for Sara to grow up!
  20. I really don't know much about ice dance, but GP's performances just captures me with their sheer brilliance. The speed, the passion, the abandon, it's amazing.
  21. Though Yuna was called the queen of short programs in her early days, compared to her sharp and vigorous SPs I love even more her later LPs that are rich in emotions, very controlled and nuanced, and at the same time just so natural, one with the music. Her ability to rise to the occasion is awe-inspiring.
  22. To add to the Planet's landscape: miles of rice, small tomato and strawberry fields...bell peppers are banned from the table and only survive in the wilderness... Earphone factories rise into the sky as cities' most prominent landmarks... Rinks that open at noon are surrounded by video game centers that doesn't close till midnight... Tall TV towers that relay baseball games from planet earth... The number of gyms has doubled over the past year... Summer sanatoriums provide bv calculators and warhorse bingos for hysterical fanyus waiting for news...
  23. I thought that too, but then in an interview after wtt he said that 4t is becoming almost as reliable as 3A, and he found himself less attached to the must-have-2-3a idea now. tbh I prefer 2-3A forever, if only for the selfish reason that they give me a few seconds to breathe during live streams... (3A-chan, stop being naughty at galas or 4T might usurp your Throne of Favorite Jump!)
  24. I'm in the I-can't-wait-for-fs-announcement camp. Really, after all the time spent postulating, I don't think any music choice can upset me now-even RJ3.0 or Carmina Burana! I'll just be super excited about what Yuzu will do with the music, and go on obsessing over the layout.
  25. You're welcome! I recommend you follow this twitter account if you like a constant stream of exquisite Yuzu pictures... Seriously, she's better than most of the magazine photographers, and she follows almost every competition. Plus, for anyone who can read some Japanese, she has beautifully poetic words accompanying her pictures, too.
