I'm glad she is leaving, she needs a change. That school does not know what to do with older skaters.I'll wait for official word re: where she's moving but even it doesn't work out, I still think a change of environment is required especially if she wants to keep competing a few more years. Her biggest strength is mental fortitude and grit/determination. I don't think she would have made this move without careful consideration of all factors and I have a feeling that this was a long time coming...

Yeah there were many pages devoted to this on GS

I love R&J v1 - his FS at the 2012 world's was the first performance of his that I watched. I remember thinking to myself "Wow who is this kid (I mean really? He was a kid back then)? The beautiful jumps, the passion that was on display was incredible" At the time I wasn't really following FS beyond just watching a few WC performances but I remembered him when we were watching the Sochi games. Of course we were cheering for PChan at the time - I am Canadian! But seeing his PW SP - I was amazed by him. Then of course he won the whole damn thing and just the way that PChan handled the pressure of someone chasing him and faltered but how petty he was about the whole thing just kind of turned me off so I switched allegiance to Yuzu... whew that was I wrong speil. I only wanted to really just write the first sentence ha ha

Definitely the following that Yuzu has is unlike anything I have ever witnessed in FS. We love our FS in Canada but none of our legends gets treated like Yuzu does. My 5 year old daughter and 7 year old son both watched a lot of FS this Olympics as that was one of the few things in the evening here and they both LOVE YUZU especially my little girl. She loves him so much that she asks to see you tube videos of him and is wanting to go to a competition with pooh bear in hand ready to toss. He is loved from folks of all ages

I can see the benefits of raising the age limit - in terms of longevity of careers and health wise. I'm speaking in particular about Russian Ladies - they peak so young and then are done by the time they are 17 or 18 (Julia, Adelina, Elena, Anna P, etc. - succumbing to injuries, other issues related to having too much too soon.. etc). They did this in tennis as well, after all the stuff that Jennifer Capriati went through. If they were to do it for this reason alone, I think I would be in favor but I definitely don't really agree about raising the age limit due for competitive reasons - that seems like the wrong reason to do it.

Happy 1st birthday Planet Hanyu! I'm so glad I found this place Thanks to all the admins for your hard work!

The Peochang Figure Skating events are all on the Olympic channel. I rewatched parts of the ladies and men's SP's this afternoon

Why is he so cute?! My 5 year old daughter is in love with him! She's asking to go see him live so she can toss a pooh bear at him ha ha ha

Well said - some of the US commentators also know VERY LITTLE about ISU rules and just FS in general and well some Canadians too actually. I prefer to watch the European and Japanese coverage even if I don't understand what they're saying - just wait for the subs!

Good for her, no one needs that kind of crazy "shipper attention. Hopefully it doesn't make their future interactions awkward or impact their friendship. I also find it especially disturbing when "shippers" leave comments on Javi's post with his girlfriend talking about the the "ship". Please don't project onto the skaters, that's just wrong...

She's allowed to skate but was ordered to not jump until sometime in May I think

Yes me too!

Very well said!

Hersh trying so hard to make himself relevant... We all know who the GOAT is no matter what bill of goods the media tries to sell us - Max is where it's at!
-
I agree with you so here's hoping for proper judging - it's a big ask!

Spoken like a true champion!

I second that thought, a Hanyu medal awarded to those who achieve legendary status
-
Yes I love the fact that he is straight forward and honest about wanting to WIN and that's his goal but he also celebrates and acknowledges his fellow competitors' accomplishments. I love the fact that he loves Boyang Jin's 4L

OK I'm a relatively new member here. Imagine my delight when I found an international Yuzu Fans FB group this awesome site!!! Just wanted to leave the admins a note to say what an awesome site this is for all of us (3000+ strong) Yuzu fans to chat about Yuzu and other topics!

Yes it can't be unseen LOL

I actually love this side of Yuzu - shows what an incredible COMPETITOR he is

This is the stuff of nightmares

Hmmm. I started paying attention to him during the Sochi Olympic season mostly because he was the guy that beat Patrick at GPF after Patrick was essentially undefeated so started to pay more attention as we had thought the gold medal at Sochi was fairly locked up! Then I saw the PW short program and he blew me away and I've been following his skating since then. I must say that I took quite a breather from FS after Sochi but kept some tabs on how he was doing. It was this Olympics (particularly Yuzu's comeback from injury and Med/Sag duel for gold) that reignited my love of FS and I've gone back and watched a bunch of competitions and EX programs since then. I am a bigger fan of his than I was ever of any of the Canadian skaters - and that's ALOT because I love my Canadian skaters!!

God that French medal is so sad compared to all its brothers!

I'm not a fan of tagging the skater, Twitter automatically tags them as well if it's in the original post. I made sure to untag Nathan because like I said don't hate the skater, but feel free to hate the skating
