Thank you for all that advice Yes, I have been stroking into one foot glides! I haven't tried swizzling into one or payed attention to how close my feet are together- maybe that's the problem! I'll keep practicing Thanks!

Hey guys, I've got a super rookie question that I'm sure you all can help me with I started group lessons a week and a half ago and so far I can manage something that looks like stroking and forward swizzles. I also managed to do a few backward swizzles in succession today! My main problem right now is one foot glides Do you guys have any tips and tricks? I've tried bending my knees and shifting my weight. I can hold a one foot glide on my right foot for 1-2 metres but my left foot glides are non existent. Sometimes my one foot glides veer to the left which makes me think I'm not distributing my weight properly. Do I just need a ton more practice? How long did it take for you guys to master one foot skating? I would love to know!

I'm guessing it's because there's plenty of work in Japan in terms of ice shows, so there's no real need to go to the US? I don't think any country can beat Japan's passion for figure skating. You hear time and time again about how skaters love going to Japan because they get totally showered with love

I'd love to see a CM with Yuzu doing round house kicks and other cool ice tricks. Something sporty and a little crazy. His past CMs have been too tame

To add on to this, I remember a couple of the more senior skaters + Nobu were backstage in a show/comp and one of them said Yuzu hates it when people imitate him There's no denying he likes to be the one teasing lol. That would make sense because I'm pretty sure he barely knows anything about how to run a domestic household I'm not shading you Yuzu because I am also just as clueless

Who ever said Nanami sensei isn't a fanyu? I totally agree- Yuzu's speech reveals a lot about what 'side' he's showing at any given point of time. Media Yuzu is calm, witty and no-nonsense Yuzu talking about his fans is sweet Yuzu around his friends is a typical 23 year old who likes to be wild and tease his kouhais And kuyashii Yuzu is... Well he's a whole different beast

Random question about assignments- once they've been given, are they interchangeable? For example, if the rumoured swap between P/C and Yuzu takes place, would that be before assignments are released or after? So basically, once they're released, are they set in stone (obviously excluding withdrawals)?

I think I have heard him use 'ore' recently, but only when he's around people he's comfortable with like Nobu or Shouma. I think that's his natural way of speaking, where as 'media Yuzu' is a side of him that he developed over time.

Sliding in to say what has already been said, so I'll keep it short. Yuzu has the ability to captivate people who have never paid any attention to figure skating (like myself) and has the ability to make thousands of people from all over the world travel to watch him perform for a few minutes. When he skates, all eyes are on him. And when he attends a competition, getting tickets is a compete bloodbath If that's not a rockstar, I'm not sure what is. On a more positive note, we're one week away from CIONTU!

I think there's plenty to fill 2 hours! Each skaters introduction + performance + interview will take a good amount of time (8ish minutes each?). And they'll probably intersperse each block with discussions between Yuzu and Minoru. Plus, there's the fan segment to get through as well! Plenty of content if you ask me

Just in case anyone isn't familiar with the story, Shimizu basically recounts the first time he met Yuzu when he was still a smol elementary school kid. He says Yuzu and him are 'asthma buddies', since they both have asthma. In summary, Yuzu approached Shimizu for an autograph. Yuzu's mum then told Shimizu that Yuzu has asthma too and asked whether it's okay for him to continue skating. Shimizu said that's its fine because breathing will become easier if he strains his lungs (ie exercises) rather than if he avoids exercise. Also that if he overcomes harsh training, he can win a gold medal. Shimizu then jokingly says that it's thanks to him that Yuzuru won his OGMs, since Yuzu continued skating because of his advice to Mama Yuzu. The next time he met Yuzu was after his first OGM. Yuzu was happy and surprised that Shimizu remembered him.

You totally should! Apparently there's this weird hologram exhibit where they 3D scan your face and project it onto a dancing ballerina hologram so you can watch yourself dancing with hologram Yuzu... I know it sounds super weird, but not gonna lie, I kinda want to try it... I just wish they hadn't dropped the ball on Yuzu's statue... So much potential was wasted Edit: Pretend I never brought up the hologram exhibit...saw a video about it and it's literally the stuff of nightmares... Can I buy new eyeballs please

Speaking of Japan, has anyone visited Yuzu's statue in the Odaiba Madame Tussauds?

They could pull of an I, Tonya situation, but that would require major commitment from the actor + good skating doubles + good CGI although the head replacement in I Tonya was painfully obvious... I could definitely give my seal of approval to an anime, but only if they've got the right people on board

I think it'll will be produced in Japan first, but I could definitely see Hollywood trying to do a remake please let that not happen, they've ruined so many good Japanese movies with sucky remakes

Probably an unpopular opinion but I really don't like Sota Fukushi Nothing against him personally, I just find that his acting (in my opinion) is very wooden and distracting. Sorry Yuzu....
