  1. @Fay I don't think so, from what I saw quickly, I think Daniil even said it was her choice. I will try and check later but it seems the real thing. Also
  2. @Forcefield The champion gets to state their picks but don't think that is passed on to whoever is first seed next season, if they choose not to participate in the GP. It's a mess really, both for her and Mai. Ah well. And I am not sure I understand the Korean Fed refusing the GP considering their skaters stuck with just the one GP could have had host picks then.
  3. I expect it. He has earned a status of legend by now so he's partially protected in that way but at the same time, it's also an ideal excuse for JSF to not lobby for him and focus on Shoma. Where that'll leave him in the end, we have to wait and see. I expect he'll still do fine for the simple reason that he is just such a massively huge name and so good that he leaves very little room for wiggle. Knock on wood at least, who even knows any longer with this sport.
  4. Because JSF couldn't care less. Basically same old, same old from the previous season. Also unfortunately, probably a good indication not to expect too much from their PCS.
  5. If they are, then it's just a justification not to actually bother and protect their supposed #1. Especially considering Yuzuru has not only been injured, but is still in the process of rehab. Take a look at what USFSA is doing. SA is literally made for Nathan and Vincent. It is such an easy 1 and 2, and they took care to protect both their number 1 and 2, and maximize their chances for the GPF. Yet somehow this is beyond JSF. I mean it's not odd, they do the same thing in the ladies, they focus on one, and throw the rest to the wolves but it is just not a decent way to handle things. They're prioritizing Shoma big time, and I absolutely refuse to like any part of that.
  6. Shoma has super easy assignments. Yuzuru not so much. I do wish JSF actually cared about their double Olympic champion too but I suppose that's too much to ask. Ah well.
  7. I was just coming over due to that. Carmen. Jesus wept.
  8. Will look at it more tomorrow, am tired but Wakaba drew the short end of the stick. Again. So surprised
  9. Wakaba was also silver at Worlds ahead of Satoko's bronze but they went with Satoko anyway. I am so sorry, I said I would sit on my hands. Sorry.
  10. I refuse to comment about NHK. *sits on hands*
  11. Because she has the wrong coach so Yura Matsuda has two and she has just the one. Oh and Mako Yamashita.
  12. Take a look at the other names. They'll never call Vincent's URs so they'll grab 1 and 2 with big scores, no matter how they do. Easy job for them.
  13. He gets huge scores these days with less than stellar skates so don't be so sure.
  14. Xiangning Li is doing both singles and pairs, in case you missed it. CSA I swear what fresh hell is this now.
  15. *clears throat* Ahem. Now what did Mother Superior say yesterday? He's going to COR!
  16. Am I blind or is there no Yuzuru? Oh nvm
  17. They will release the whole thing, they're just being trolls about that.
  18. Maybe he changed his mind. He did say it but I don't recall the usual official retirement announcement. Who knows, with Chiddy gone now, he may have changed his mind for another season or two.
  19. Everyone had the same reaction. He has. But there we go.
  20. ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Finland Nov. 2-4 Helsinki, Finland https://skatecanada.ca/event-schedule/ Click on international!
  21. OOOH! Looks like Finland got the WTH GP!
  22. Last season Lynn popped up in the middle of the day on her Twitter and just went omg I hear assignments are coming a month early and a few hours later up they went posted by journos. So ISU, what ISU.
  23. One of my favorite gifs ever, along with this one, which I think represents us well right now:
