  1. I couldn't find this original post. Maybe it got deleted or moved? This post it to Bonesfan not Micaelis sorry. I kind of stopped reading as soon as I read "Oriental". I just have to say no don't do that. Never refer to an Asian person as "Oriental." You could refer Asia as the Orient (although it's an outdated term). You can even refer to items as oriental, but again it's an outdated term from the colonial past. However, never ever refer to an Asian person as Oriental. It's racist. That was my PSA for the day.
  2. Yuzu was doing part of his R+J1 choreography hence the flailing arms and Daisuke and Patrick kinda of laughing at this 16 year old enthusiastic puppy. It is my favorite podium Yuzu entrance ever.
  3. which is why it's so expensive. Made in Japan sh*t is EXPENSIVE!
  4. Well that's good! That means Yuzu will never r-word ever since his goal will never be fulfilled. Wins all around!
  5. Pretty sure he's on skates. Also he grew a little after Sochi but not by that much.
  6. I think so too. I mean why else would Yuzuru come all the way to Toronto if he is just doing stroking practices. He can do that in Japan, especially in the lead up to his own show. I know Jeffrey Buttle is currently working on Stars on Ice, but he might very well be working with Shae Lynn especially since the Long is now much shorter and it will take a lot more fine tuning to figure out how to cram all the required elements into a shorter period of time and allow choreography to accommodate Yuzu's need of being EXTRA.
  7. Since he doesn't have makeup on, his super glowy, transparent and clear skin is ALL his. So basically, he's number 1!
  8. My google translate something about "power of rice" talking about Yuzuru saying he eats rice before competition. Also something about physical condition management is key. Google translate is a strange strange thing.
  9. I've only seen what's posted in Tumblr and most people are more upset with the overly generous scores that got ridiculously close to the perfect WR LP Yuzu had for Hope and Legacy. [Admin edit: Please don't call out anyone or generalize fans of other skaters.] Something I read infuriated me. They said if Yuzuru is the REAL champion, he can come back next year to prove it. I'm like b*tch please. He doesn't need to prove ANYTHING to them. His 2 Olympic gold, 2 WC gold, and 4 GPF gold more than prove he's the real champion. [Admin edit: Same reason as above.]
  10. His costume is so sparkly. Maybe I was too far away to really notice. That near collision with Javi...
  11. I've been waiting to see footage of Nobu loosing his sh*t. That whole time they were interviewing at the Medals plaza, I kept looking at the crowd since we stumbled upon their interview.
  12. Poor coach fluffy! I think Shoma's learned to catch them because he keeps getting beamed by Pooh's for Yuzuru.
  13. don't say it...don't say it...don't say it... Why does Satoko jump higher here than in her entire program? Couldn't hold that in for even a second. Sorry tiny queen!
  14. How many times has he competed in these competitions? I know he got 3 silvers at Skate Canada and 3 Silvers in 4CC. I don't want him back in Cup of China. That crash will forever haunt my dreams. Better that he never return there.
  15. I mentioned Skate Canada because he has 3 silvers there.
  16. Not to mention the Skate Canada silver curse.
  17. We don't even have to imagine too hard. While Yuzuru is injured, you got all these young skaters with crazy technical contents challenging multi-quad programs. All of the sudden, Yuzuru (according to the US media) is no longer the one to beat. Rather this 18 year old with lower artistic skills and not much resume to back up his front runner status is the one to beat. Had Nathan won the Olympics, we would be in the same boat as PChiddy supporters most likely and be bitter til the end of days. It's why I give them some slack when they still talk about Yuzuru like he hasn't continuously improved his skating and tech through this entire quad and is no longer the noodily youngster with stamina issues. It's probably why while I had convinced myself that all I want is Yuzuru to have 2 skates he can be proud of in Pyeonchang medal or no medal. I always knew deep down, I would have SO MUCH problem had Nathan won. Not the same case for Boyang or Shoma since they've been actively trying to improve their programs (Boyang more than Shoma).
  18. Yuzu reminds me of Michael Phelps when in reaction to Patrick saying he'll "let Yuzu win the GPF and win the Olympics himself", he used it as fuel to go on to win the Olympics. Chiddy kind of mentally caved at both Vancouver and Sochi Olympics, while Yuzuru came in as an underdog in Sochi and coming back from injury in Pyeonchang. edit: this rivalry is also why us fans were so tickled when Patrick and Yuzu were so friendly and having long conversation behind the scene at 4CC.
  19. I lived through that mess, got banned, got reinstated. and that's all I can say about that. I remember we had that temporary forum during the 24 hours before setting up this beautiful home. Not sure if that's still up if you wanted to get the 411. and back to Fanyufest.
  20. I've only ever spoken to one person who's not a Yuzu fan and he couldn't really explain to me why he doesn't like Yuzuru. Here are my theories on why you could be from Japan and not be a Yuzuru fan: 1. His skating is just not your cup of tea 2. They are fans of other skaters and resent the focus on Yuzuru and not on their favorites (that's fair because when Yuzu was in the Olympics, Japanese media almost exclusively only focused on Yuzu and Shoma and the other Japanese skaters got token coverage) 3. They are still resentful of Yuzuru beating Daisuke Takahashi. Prior to Sochi, Takahashi was the most famous male Japanese skater and the most accomplished with his Olympic Bronze and World title. Yuzu kind of leap frogged and trampled all those accomplishments and made them look paltry in comparison. Maybe it's a generalization, but I believe most Takahashi fans are now Shoma fans who emulates his idol Takahashi and his style. 4. They have no taste I feel sorry for anyone who's actually resentful of Yuzuru's accomplishments. I'm American and Taiwanese, I should be rooting for Nathan or Vincent or Boyang, yet I love Yuzuru the best while being able to cheer for the other men. Although, truthfully, I'm kind of resentful toward Nathan because I think his PCS scores are not warranted. However, I'm hoping like heck that he finally focus on improving on non-jump elements and become someone compelling to watch (I got bored personally while watching his 6 quad FS at the Olympics). Edit: I don't think him not training in Japan is why there are hostility. I think there's more hostility that he's not from the major skating centers like Nagano/Nagoya whichever one Takahashi,Shoma, and Mao are from. Takahashi trained outside of Japan before and didn't get flack (that I know of) because of that. Same with Mao.
  21. Cool thanks. I'm positive that Yuzu will be invited to GP events. Now the question I most want to know is whether NHK will ask him and whether he will go to Skate Canada. NHK is right in the middle so in order for him to do NHK, he either has to start early at Skate Canada or skate late right before GPF. I know he's thirsty to get his GPF championship back.
  22. There's that mentality Hongboa Zao was talking about. For Yuzuru it's all about winning and he wasn't walking away with anything less than that.
  23. That's a GF event right? or is that a challenger event. Maybe I was thinking of Boyang and in that case it was top 3 in WC.
