  1. That's true
  2. It's often a balance; going slower makes it easier to control like Fay said but you'd have to compensate by muscling more or swinging your arms more to get the momentum...whereas going fast means you get the momentum effortlessly but it's way harder to get the timing right. you're more likely to, say, pop the jump or just not be able to do it at all of course skaters know this but learning to time your muscles to milliseconds precision is not something all of them can do
  3. right but if you can't do the jump then it's all moot

  5. Isn't the main value being able to repeat the 3A and the 3Lz instead of having to repeat a 3T?
  6. lmfao
  7. looks great!!
  8. why? hip injuries?
  9. the 4T is huge and airy though. the 3T, not sure if because of bad landing on the 4T or she naturally waits so long between jumps in a combo. no one's 3T is as laboured as Medvedeva's though.
  10. welp, brian certainly knows how to word things in a worrisome way...
  11. I hope they are taking care of her. You know, I was hypothesizing that maybe Alena was holding out for sponsorships until after she won Worlds. She was very, very likely to, and with the title she could have negotiated for more, I bet. She was certainly getting top 2 so it wouldn't have put her in a worse position to wait until after Worlds. But then we know what happened... But now to go from probable world champion to starting from scratch......must be difficult. I'd cry, too.
  12. glad to see plushenko actually taking an active part in coaching .. hope it's not just for show lol
  13. Yuzu looking at his Pooh ears like: "explain yourself!"
  14. I hope Yuzu (and other top skaters) just decline. I mean, the scores won't count anyway, they said. The judges are guaranteed to be extra biased. Plus, rinks aren't even open in many parts of the country here, how are skaters even to prepare??
  15. I think Aliona didn't intend to make a change. She wouldn't make a change after the transfer period. IMO Eteri found out that she even dared talk to Plushenko and kicked her out. Knowing that this would put her in a really difficult position. She'll most likely try to make it very difficult for Aliona to skate next season. Eteri seems to be over her head in a power trip. Without her skaters, she is no one.
  16. and if eteri bans her from representing Sambo-70, as I'm sure she will try, Alena can't skate at all??
  17. I wish he kept it Zuzu try new spins
  18. poor bb
