  1. Oh my, you have no idea how many times I watched this on repeat...
  2. the sad part is the rumors are almost always true......... wishing her a speedy recovery, but i feel she can't truly recover if she is taking part in all events.........
  3. WHY DOES THE SUIT FIT SO POORLY?! And why is the color so.....out there? LOL
  4. Will do a forum upgrade in 2 hours (11AM Pacific Standard Time)! Thanks!
  5. I feeeeeeel like the wording is super careful lol. Obviously he doesn't want to say he's landed it. Is it because he wants to keep things mysterious? Because he hasn't landed it yet? Who knows! But he sounds confident, and I have 100% faith in him. It will happen. I want him to land this jump and have an absolutely FANTASTIC season more than anything. I know he can do it!! Love you, Yuzu! Haven't watched a single competition this season yet, but can't wait for NHK and Rostelecom Cup!
  6. Gorgeous! Thanks for uploading. All my favorite programs including galas are here
  7. Wow, WC tickets are out before Rostelecom Cup (in less than two months) and Olympics really weird season, sigh........
  8. I really don't understand why anyone would think his jumps are regressing? Just look at any competition and you'll see quads that are as effortless as ever, maybe more effortless than ever before. Sure, he doesn't have a consistent 4Lz or 4F, but it still doesn't make sense to say he's regressing, as if he had one in the past and lost it. Meanwhile, his 4T and 4S are more consistent than EVER before, and his 4Lo often looks effortless as well. Logic, none

  13. That's the thing though, proving that straight figure skaters can succeed, as if straight figure skaters are unsuccessful in figure skating, is just utter nonsense. If he thinks he is oppressed for being straight, that is delusional at best and a slap in the face at worst to all the non-straight skaters who have been passed over, called slurs, discriminated against, and/or underscored in favor of others. I mean you have Olympic champions throwing homophobic slurs at skaters within the last year, and only a decade ago gay skaters were openly called homophobic slurs on TV. To act like you are suddenly the one oppressed for being straight?? Have we been watching the same sport, Nathan? And I think that is what people are angry about. Not because Nathan's apology was scripted, not because they are nitpicking at his words, not because boohoo he won against our fave. Re. Do skaters get dinged because they came out as LGBT? Obviously there's no rule in the rulebook that says if you are LGBT your elements are worth less. But more than half of your score is about presentation and fed backing, and the fed very clearly backs whoever they think makes the sport look good. And gee whiz, I wonder why they choose to back Evan Lysacek over Johnny Weir etc.
  14. From their interactions Yuzu is certainly cordial and respectful to Nathan. Yuzu is respectful to everyone? But ... that's about it. I don't know where people get that they "like" each other or "are friends" much less "love"?! Those are strong assumptions. A hug during a competition != friendship. Just wanted to step in and say I hope we can keep this discussion level-headed (even though I understand this may be a hard topic) and remember that just because someone disagrees doesn't automatically mean they are wrong or a bad person. It seems sometimes we are talking about different things (ie explicit vs implicit homophobia). On the one hand I believe Nathan is expressing a lot of internalized toxic beliefs about masculinity and that can be construed as implicit homophobia. And I sympathize with so many others who are sick of how many people in FS share his views. On the other hand I also don't think Nathan means to be homophobic. And I do think he is truly sorry that people felt hurt by his comments... I don't think he is a bad person, and I do think his apology is genuine. But he probably needs some more self awareness / soul searching to understand why his beliefs are harmful, and that kind of understanding isn't going to come in a just couple of days. I hope he eventually takes those steps, but it's possible it won't be until long after he's done with competitive skating.

  16. [NEWS] Other athletes appreciating Yuzu
  17. Well, to them, it's just about the language i guess. "How to be more politically correct," not "how to have less internalized homophobia."
  18. I've been to skate america once and tbh most of the skating fans in the US are older men and women who watched it in the Katarina Witt/Tonya Harding days. idk if they're necessarily more conservative though, but they do lean older.
  19. Agreed!! Let's just appreciate how hard it must be to defend your gold medal at the Olympics especially when you are the greatest athlete of your sport of all time. Especially in a sport as focused on mental and physical precision (and on being young and injury-free) as gymnastics and figure skating. 😌
