Wow seriously?? Does anyone have a link to the article? From the little I saw, it was only about her use of 'recycled' as a word? I really hope it isn't overly sensitive fans taking issue. While inaccurate journalism should be corrected, it's too easy nowadays for fans to pile on and sometimes ruin someone's entire career over a mistake or oversight....

I've been watching some Satton programs and I love the details in her hair in her Planets costume - it really makes the outfit something a little special. I also usually dislike flowing sleeves but I like the variation she wore in some of the exhibition (?) skates ; _ ;

It's a case of 'don't hate the player hate the game' when it comes to jumping and program composition and recycling. The only way to amend the trend is if they get punished via their PCS or the rulebook and there are no measures in place right now for any of that. Yuzu's strength is that he's equally capable of getting both marks. This Olympics, all the talk about Yuzu's 'perfect program' is essentially outlining a program that will achieve top PCS and TES (and in doing so leave a 'memorable impression' on the audience and likely make him unbeatable if he can do both as we've seen). Him recycling his two programs is a way of increasing the chances of getting top PCs because it frees him to focus on perfecting his layout (ie. TES and where his strongest challengers are currently because their BVs are higher). It's everyone playing the game, really -- at the end of the day, as much as we may emphasise 'artistic integrity', I don't fault any of the athletes for increasing their chances of getting the final prize.

It's going to be heartbreak no matter how it turns out. I really hope Satton comes back well to claim her place but it's going to be a Hunger Games situation I do wonder why several of the JP ladies (okay...really, Mai and Marin) are going for tangos and styles of music requiring fierceness and drama - I would have advised them to play to their strengths since it's Olympics season and given how dire the selection is. Neither of them possess the natural fierceness in their skating to perform a tango with conviction yet. It'll be interesting to see how they develop - honestly, I think it will come down to how well they can carry the persona.

Ohhh I like this costume and look for Mai. Looking forward to seeing Mai battle for the Olympic spot this season - I love the flow of her jumps and spins, just hoping she'll embody more of the sharp power and fierceness that her SP requires (from looking at her DOI performance...hope we get a clip of her comp performance)

Aw thank you! I draw an inconsistent range of stuff but I've only recently started drawing Yuzu (I think I prefer realism with him but I wanted to play around with costumes so did a quick semi-anime sketch lol). More to come for sure~ Thank you <3 It'd fit with the Olympic tradition haha

I was hoping someone would have the patience to do this and Yuzu's fans do not disappoint - I think the changes in jump layout require faster timing on a lot of his jumps but it doesn't look too jarring right now. I'm so excited to see the new program ;;;;

I also prefer tailored sleeves, though the slight flare on Seimei 1.0's costume wasn't too bad esp because it was referencing the traditional garment. But if they're going to be flared, I hope they're black so they stand out more against the ice (also, sleeves of Mao's costume length just looks like a pain to skate to...there's enough to worry about, no need to add hitting yourself in the face with fabric to the mix)

Look, if he ever expresses the wish, I'm sure there will be some witchcraft tattoo eyeliner made just for him by someone somewhere (but no, I doubt he will ever put eyeliner on. Hence why we have fanart : P)

I couldn't find that one dark!Seimei fanart I adored (I think it was in the General Chat thread like.......400 pages ago =__=;;;;;;) so I drew my own (though I'm not 100% on the colour scheme). I just had a look and it's because she pulls her hands in below the breast (like where her diaphragm is) when she's jumping and has her elbows held a little away from her body, and her hands coming out of her jumps are really loose but dangly instead of elongated. I guess it's just a jump technique preference but watching her jump makes me feel a little unstable haha (I think I'm too used to seeing Yuzu's position where he's got his arms raised to shoulder height)

I'm not the only one getting a weird feeling re: Marin's jumps! I think it's her hands more than anything for me...they somehow seem tentative/floppy when she's entering the jump and when she exits?

I think he's taking a massive risk in that if he puts a foot wrong, it'll be ammo for judges to underscore or punish him more than the others (because there's the expectation that if you play it that safe, you better be perfect every time). But I hope he chose this because he has the confidence to consistently blow everyone away ;;
