NHK 2018 will be in Hiroshima, they announced it at the end of the gala last year. I remember people on Twiter being amazed that accommodation was already booked out a few hours after the announcement.

(A good rule is to check that they're not signed with the Yoshimoto agency before wasting your time. I find most comedians from any country pretty awful but there are always a few who are worth watching.)

I'm not sure they necessarily meant intellectual genius, perhaps more people with a genius talent? I love the guy, though, he cracks me up, even when I can't understand everything he's saying. Language barriers don't matter when someone is naturally hilarious. I highly recommend watching the vs Arashi SP he was on. My whole body hurt from laughing!

The second fellow is Sanma Akashiya, one of the "Big 3" comedic TV hosts in Japan (who can't stop talking XD,) and the third is the youngest ever shogi player to turn pro, Sota Fujii, who has broken a bunch of records.

I don't think it's his looks at all (though his graceful figure certainly helps) but his personality and, for lack of a better word, aura. They're so natural on him but would look absolutely ridiculous on most other male skaters because they don't have that special mix of masculine power and feminine grace. They match his spirit perfectly and I'm glad he's able to express himself so freely on the ice. That being said, he could skate in a potato sack and make it look cosmically beautiful.

熱い refers to someone being passionate, though it literally means "hot." They said he's "friggin' crazy passionate." (Very professional textbook translation. :P)
