Well, we know he was training on ice earlier than January so hopefully his jumps are coming along well, too. I just hope he isn’t pushing his ankle to be ready in time. He only needs 3 weeks to peak/get his jumps back so I guess he’s ahead of schedule?

Omgomgomgomgomg Waka is bringing back WAKABOND for Challenge Cup?!?!?!?!
-
>_> Maybe JSF can lend them the cutout from 2017 Nats.

I’m too scared to rewatch the Olympics. I’ve maybe watched twice in the past year because the emotions are too scary and overwhelming. 🐥🐥🐥

I don’t think 4T3A will be a priority now. He’s landed it in competition so hopefully he can put it aside and focus on maximising points (and maybe bring back some of that stunning choreography that he gave up for it.) I hope if he does bring back 4Lo that his ankle is ready for it. We know he can push himself to do it if he has to but that poor ankle...

On the other hand,

I'm of the same opinion as @KatjaThera I think 4Lo will come back for WC. He doesn't have much choice with the new quad repetition rules this season. I just pray to god he's ready for it and won't sacrifice his ankle further.

Re: Shoma IMO his best interpretation yet. Very beautiful and touching skate, though I hate to think it was likely because of his injury. That’s right. No Russian, either, iirc.
-
That was so funny and so sweet! Still not used to Javi being in this thread.
-
OT The competition Shoma WD from is the Challenge Cup. Unless there's been a new development, he intends to compete at 4CC.

It's really hard to get tickets to anything in Japan as a foreigner, even if there are tickets to spare. Have a look in the 100+ page Worlds thread for an idea of how soul-crushing the process can be. They've recently made it even harder for foreign fans to get tickets by shutting down lottery applications for anyone without a Japanese mobile phone number, as well.

Wow, what a lovely RJ1 tribute.

His arm makes it work for me. His PC Chopin A-spin was quite nice, too, I thought. Plushenko’s sticking-out head, though, I’ve always been irrationally annoyed by it. I suppose I can just use this as exposure therapy.
-
It seems Mr Button and I have the same pet peeve about those spins. I do hope Yuzu reverts to his beautiful, elegant, perfectly aligned-head spin to end Origin. It was lovely.

@ICeleste Thank you so much! I was hoping someone would try to lip read but didn’t think anyone actually would.

I remember some other Team Japan skater saying that winning 2 golds was his dream since he was 10 but I don’t remember who it was. Maybe Miki? What if the second gold he had in his eye on was 2022...

No 4Lz. 4Lz doesn’t exist. Never has, never will. Lalalalalalala I can’t hear you.

I only know Brian Orser, OGM in truth-telling. I'm just going to believe* him for the sake of my sanity*.

Poor Shoma. Hope he recovers soon. Update: :(:(:(

I think it's normal Japanese manners to bow when you leave a room.
