Here is link to NHK broadcast of Yuzuru's presscon from the 19th with simultaneous English interpreter. I'll try find the media thread to put it in too....if I can find it as I am not too good at finding things here (or anywhere!!) - it would not embed. https://youtu.be/PfMnKtUR--w Edit yay I found the thread, lets celebrate!! This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].

Yes I understand your request and the post has now been moved to retired skaters thread that I didn't know existed....it's such big news imo that I know many satellites would want to know as many of us admire Yuna a lot. But next time I have news of a retired skater, I know where to go thank you @sallycinnamon (a spoiler was a good idea too @Xiupia why didn't I think of that??! )

I know this isn't the right thread but lots of you will want to know YUNA KIM IS GETTING MARRIED IN OCT TO KO WOORIM!!!!

https://news.yahoo.co.jp/articles/a0026836d99ce5d3f640cb1e2fe0a950f9b4d6f0 News article - former JNats champ Masaru Ogawa says there is no reason Yuzuru couldn't participate in the next Olys....

Oh I commented on PH about his eyes in Phantom (the 2022 Yuzuru I mean) when the programme was on - glad someone posted this on twitter! Honestly it gave me chills to see those intense eyes ....
-
I haven't seen this posted on the planet, apologies if it has been. In the comments some question Shizuka's silence, but I accept as a JSF official she is not in the easiest position - the comments also remind twitter users that she defended Yuzu when she was recently asked if Yuzu "retired because of younger players coming through" - she said Yuzu doesn't focus on such things iirc. Also I notice Yuzuru himself doesn't agree (or disagree!) directly with what Shuzo, Nobu and Takahashi are saying. I always thought at worst this jump was a q and that the tech panel should have given that as skaters should be given the benefit of the doubt.

Well said!

This is how I am feeling after what Yuzu has said and what we have learnt about JSF - There is a real sense of exploitation and also a thought process where skaters are not like people, but are disposable commodities.....it leaves a very nasty taste in the mouth. I think young skaters are abused by the organisations that should be looking after their interests.
-
Shows how much value is placed on the opinion of the skater and the fans.... No proper discussion with Yuzu, just treating him badly hoping he'd go, No thought for fans or how much they want to see Yuzuru's performances. Very authoritarian and autocratic approach to...well, everything

I have thanked TV asahi @tv_asahi_PR on twitter under this short vid of Yuzuru on the live programme thanking them for the show - I see some other fans have been asking about the possibility of Eng subs in future if anyone wants to join in thanking/making requests.

He does his phantom eyes in the little box on the screen when they show CoC14 - omg so….intense!
-
Patrick’s message - so lovely warm and genuine, wishing Yuzu all the best and thanking Yuzu for their time on the ice together

Anyone watching Japan TV? I have annoying subtitles in the middle of the screen, does everyone? edit I have sorted it!
-
Sorry if already posted here
-
Just in case you havent seen - I'll put it on the Makuhari thread too
-
Wow, so much going on today! I stayed up part of the night here to see Yuzu at NHK trophy through the years, and to see the beginning of FaOI Makuhari, then this morning's offerings on TBS and caught up on the end of FaOI! Now waiting for TV Asahi...phew I am amazed I got all the timings right I've been thinking of that Stephane long hug, and Stephane's 4T....I think he's in on this pro-athlete stuff too! Yuzu's made him up his tech lol!! He'll be a great source of experience and knowledge to Yuzuru I would imagine... I just love that Yuzuru is saying stuff about the scoring...it doesn't just affect him, the Japanese women have been so disadvantaged, as have the South Korean women. Deniss has said some words publicly too, I mean about the move away from the more artistic/musical components in skating (including skating skills, which are really technical skills ofc!). I really think this sport sucks the most when it comes to valuing the skaters and their opinions, their voices are silenced, I think that in itself is an abuse. I feel it's to do with the youth of the skaters, and a hangover of Russian (and U.S. American?) cultural attitudes to sport/training/coaching. That really needs to change! Evgenia had to go all the way to Canada to have a voice...but still the views of skaters are rarely heard and that in the 21st century in the modern world is unacceptable in my view Anyway, Yuzu has a voice now, at last, can't wait to hear it!!! EDIT great idea about photobook - I'll donate, let me know how!

Sorry if you have seen this already as it will just make you again... It makes me furious that they treated him like this, and ofc he knew exactly what was happening. How awful a sport it is if skaters cannot say what they think until they have left the competitive field - Yuzu did say he felt as if he wasnt rewarded tbh but people interpreted that in ways that suited them I would guess, rather than taking this GENIUS seriously. I wish other skaters were up in arms about it, and coaches!! and feds!! Maybe I shd have put this on salty thread...

deleted in case ppl dont want to see assignments and who is where...
-
Yuzuru, I just want to say that it was an honor for me to compete with you. You are a cool guy, a sunny and kind person, I wish you further success in everything, I hope to meet again (peace sign)

@lajoitko the OP has tweeted to say JNats19 was the other popped one - you were right - I have given the OP the explanation, not sure if they will change their graphs though.
-
Thanks so much for this translation! Yuzuru's communication skills are so wonderful. There are so many interviews around at the moment I am totally lost as to which I have seen translations of and which I haven't - so grateful to all the translators, I have tried to learn some Japanese over the years but am really still at the level of an under 2 year old I would guess!
-
I have asked the OP about the 4Lz data - the 2 popped ones recorded. Landed - Cor2017, GPF2019, 4CC2020 (hand down) Popped - I am pretty sure one of those is from ACI2017 - however I was there and I know @Hydrobladewas too so correct me if I am wrong - Yuzu had an injured knee, 4Lz was in the planned layout but he didn't practice it at all at the comp because of his injury - he did 3Lz in RT and the understanding was he was going to do 3Lz in the freeskate due to his injury....but it's v likely this has been recorded as a popped 4Lz. I have no idea where the other one is from; anyone? (he did pop the 3Lz (or 4Lz) in the free)
-
Not Martina inviting Yuzuru to an interview with Max Ambesi??!! Wow I hope he says yes!!
-
Hahahaha I roared laughing!!! Japan Canada and me was particularly funny for some reason...maybe because the (Yuzu) voice was so un-Pooh like?
