I think it would not be possible - I can’t see Yuzuru travelling home to Sendai during a comp - he takes competition much more seriously than that - NHK is at Saitama this season.

So much better than the previous waxen Yuzuru, facially, but still doesn’t hold a candle to the real thing! But then again it must be very difficult to achieve perfection!

I've booked too - just in case! (I have a friend who lives in Sheffield but I haven't seen her since 2019 summer....I will still ask her if I can stay with her and her family if Yuzu does come to the UK...but she might say no!!)

Some saying GP likely to be at Sheffield Arena which is much bigger capacity - I can only imagine this will be the venue if Yuzuru came... We will know soon enough! we need all the help we can get....

Hey I lived in Doncaster for many years and skated a few times at Doncaster Dome (never went to the Sheffield rink despite closeness) and also at Bradford rink (is it still there??) when I lived in Leeds - I could basically skate forwards, quite fast, but that was all lol!! It never even occurred to me that I could learn to do more...oh to be young again!! EDIT: Bradford Ice Arena IS still there, just looked it up - I'm so used to facilities closing in the UK, especially in less affluent areas...

Will you go regardless of Yuzuru going? I might - I am also very near (live in NW England) EDIT: depends on Covid, and who else is competing!

I agree - the ignorance in the UK about Covid is frightening! I am sure Finland authorities/media are much more open with the population there than our government and media are here.... Well I booked accommodation at Espoo a while ago when the rumours started about the CoR GP being assigned there so fingers crossed!

Yes I'd say it is positive about Yuzuru - but still object a bit to "cult" and "obsessive" label! I am a Rafa Nadal fan, his "fandom" is enormous, people worship him (he is very like Yuzuru in terms of talent, success, personal attitudes, even good looks, courtesy to others, international appeal!, longevity EDIT - they even have a name like us - Rafans!) - I have never seen a Western article on his fans that call them a cult or obsessive, yet their behaviour is pretty much the same!! I wonder if it's based somewhat in sexist thinking given we are predominantly women....

I liked Javi’s skate to live Don Quixote (didn’t watch him at last televised Shizuoka show) - you could see how much he improved from Tour A! I know many of us feel differently about Javi as a person now, but as a skater he does have charm.
