Haven't even watched what happened but happened to see the results and OMG?! Ilia had a Nathan Chen 2018 SP meltdown but in his FP. I feel for him, I think once he fell once he crashed out.

No one would have predicted the results

Hang on, sorry for the double posting, but does this mean Zu's 4A< remains the only attempted 4A on Olympics ice? I might be laughing histerically at this, ngl.

Well that was a turn up for the books. C/B and Ilia Malinin losing their absolutely locked in  golds...

Congrats to Mikhail!!! And I am so happy for Hun after the travesty in the team event.

Isn't that just wonderful? *whisper: vindicatiooooon*

I think this is part of the reasons "Yuzuru Hanyu is the GOAT" is everywhere on other social media again.

The sacrifice for the TE gold. Oh well.

Honestly, I made myself suffer by following this competitive season. I was furious after the Team Event, but this is just cosmic energy returning. They were up for karma at some point.

Finally watched the top 6 and so so happy for Mikhail! Such a victory for him. It was funny to hear Tara and Johnny remark during Mikhail's skate that this Olympics would give him good experience for the next one. If only they knew...

Poor Yuma can't escape the silver curse but it was so sweet to see how happy he was Shun got bronze.

Still feel for Ilia though, he looked devastated but kudos for hugging Mikhail and admitting he blew it. Wasn't great to hear him say in the kiss and cry that he would've won if he went to Beijing but I'll blame that on his post-skate adrenaline. Won't lie, I am sort of happy he didn't win just because of all the insane media hype around him and them acting like him getting gold was a sure thing. Ice is slippery and anything can happen.

I was rooting for Mikhail, I am so happy he won the gold! no one saw it coming :happy0007:

the neutral skater had an amazing free skate too! but his components were so low, it felt unfair. Could be cause he is not too known to the judges and components has a lot to do with rapport...even if that isn't right imo.

Yuma sadly couldn't have a clean skate but his performance on the short on teams was so so wonderful.

I feel bad for ilia, even though I don't like his skating he was devastated and I could see he didn't even think losing was a possibility. He seemed completely out of it. I think they pressured him to do the free for teams because they were at risk of losing the gold to Japan and initially he was planning on only doing the sp, I wonder if that was a factor, not being able to lock in and rest as good as he should have and adding one extra demanding performance he hadn't accounted for. Japan really deserved the teams medal, it felt a bit cheap they pushed Ilia to do both skates to not lose it, but I digress.

I was not able to watch Jun skate!!! I'm so bummed about that, I lost connection just as his skate was happening, I was so mad. I will have to watch video when they put it up, but I did hear he had a fall.

What an insane event, I couldn't believe my eyes... Happy for the medalists, especially Shun, his reaction was too sweet haha. I can't help but feel kind of crushed for Jun, I was really hoping he'd medal, he was sooo close too :sadPooh: I hope he decides to continue after this season, I love his beautiful skating, he is my favorite of the current men by far

Also, congrats to Donovan:studsmatta: what a great experience for him!
