I'm bringing over the limericks from the General Chat

Was thinking of ways to gush about the wonderful young man we have the pleasure of being a fan of, so after discussion with a fellow fan,  we came up with the idea of us writing limericks to his amaziness....a limerick is a little 5 lined ditty with the first, second and last line rhyming....And the middle couplet too...,they're intended to amuse..

 

This is an example!  I'd love to see what others can come up with 

 

There was a beautiful young man
Who beguiled many a fan
With his goergous face
He made hearts race 
And win gold medals he can!,

Great idea! 

 

A dashing young man from Sendai,

was so gifted he made Fanyus cry,

with one smouldering look,

our hearts Yuzu took,

and his skating and jumps made us DIE!!

Only with himself does he race

A haiku abt when I saw him jump the 4S combo during the FS in Helsinki aka how I lost my mind:

 

He sparkled mid-air,

And between his blades and wings,

My mind remains.

This might be cheating as I haven't written the poem myself that I am talking about, but what the hell!!

I really like the work of a poet called Seamus Heaney, who wrote a poem called "Postscript".

When I watch Yuzuru skate I often think of the last line of that poem, the poet has written about nature and the wind (and swans!) before the last line:

 

"And catch the heart off guard and blow it open"

 

That's what Yuzuru has the power to do with his artistry and expression and beauty,

catch our hearts off guard and blow them open......

This skater, both talented and fair,

Has expressive brown eyes and fab hair!

His face, made by gods,

Those magnificent quads!

It's impossible when watching to NOT stare!!!

I wrote an haiku when I saw the Requiem for the first time it's nothing incredible, and I don't know if I translated it well because I wrote it in italian...
