robin
Yayy! I'm bringing over the limericks from the General Chat On 22.8.2017 at 1:57 PM, PPOS said: May I lighten the mood a little?. Was thinking of ways to gush about the wonderful young man we have the pleasure of being a fan of, so after discussion with a fellow fan, we came up with the idea of us writing limericks to his amaziness....a limerick is a little 5 lined ditty with the first, second and last line rhyming....And the middle couplet too...,they're intended to amuse.. This is an example! I'd love to see what others can come up with There was a beautiful young man Who beguiled many a fan With his goergous face He made hearts race And win gold medals he can!, On 22.8.2017 at 2:06 PM, robin said: I saw him fly across the ice Speedy, light- he had me look twice Right into my heart he went And I had no time to prevent My following demise This is fun (but I cheated a bit) On 22.8.2017 at 2:20 PM, PapiandPooh421 said: @PPOS. Challenge accepted! Yuzuru, the mighty and the bold In his palm he has my heart to hold I hope one day the desires of his heart Be given to him by the Lord that is smart And mark a history left untold On 22.8.2017 at 2:32 PM, katonice said: Lol, now I'm a bit scared to post mine... But hell anyway I already wrote it. I'm ready to be laughed at Who would have thought There could be anyone out there who could hold taut All my little heart strings So as to make my soul sing And cry over all his battles hard fought On 22.8.2017 at 2:33 PM, freeyafanfan said: Heck my big sister lives in Japan for around 3 years now and of course she saw yuzu on tv cause he's literally everywhere and she casually watched big events broadcasted on tv like worlds and I still can't get him to like yuzu cause she said his skating is too feminine I have zero persuading skills See Yuzuru skating Judges are left aweing Hydroblading so beautifully Quad lutz with perfect accuracy Pooh rain is pouring On 22.8.2017 at 2:49 PM, BeningLin said: Can I join too?! Even when his body sore He never complain more The jump must be landed Take injuries for granted Because he is stubborn to the core Inspired from COC 2014 I felt bad now to brought this incident omg forgive me... I give you: To Yuzuru, from a Friend I have seen my friend grow tall I have seen him cry and fall But for me, I'm prone to swear (Though only a stuffed Pooh bear) He's the strongest of them all. On 22.8.2017 at 3:13 PM, SparkleSalad said: There once was a lord from Sendai who Kept as loyal vassal his bear, Pooh At every comp Foes many they'd whomp Except for SC where they'd rank two (Edit because lol I broke geography for rhyme scheme) On 22.8.2017 at 4:59 PM, PPOS said: There was a young man called Yuzu Who adored his bear called pooh His skin it glowed His beauty showed And his eyes would make anyone coo! Then he went, "Ton ton ton suuuuu~" And said "Jozu" with sparkles and laughter (I'm finding these limericks are a great way to wax lyrical about Yuzu lol.) On 22.8.2017 at 5:42 PM, Hydroblade said: Your costume needs sparkles and ruffles And you can't have that without muscles So you can jump those quads In outrageous purple pants Just PLEASE don't make your jumps doubles On 22.8.2017 at 5:54 PM, singcarcom said: Yuzuru is Hope; Yuzuru is Legacy As we step onto a rink so icy, We struggle to reach brilliancy. Pammi
This might be cheating as I haven't written the poem myself that I am talking about, but what the hell!! I really like the work of a poet called Seamus Heaney, who wrote a poem called "Postscript". When I watch Yuzuru skate I often think of the last line of that poem, the poet has written about nature and the wind (and swans!) before the last line: "And catch the heart off guard and blow it open" That's what Yuzuru has the power to do with his artistry and expression and beauty, catch our hearts off guard and blow them open...... CiaoCiao
I wrote an haiku when I saw the Requiem for the first time it's nothing incredible, and I don't know if I translated it well because I wrote it in italian... A soul drawn on the ice from the touch of sweet skates. My amazed eyes! Link to comment
