I hope the girls keep us awake. They did that on Thursday. It was very exciting to watch them. More exciting than men, I'd say. 

 

I am so tired, that I cannot sleep. You know when you push yourself over and then just nope? Even you really should? So might as well push though!

 

I preferred the girls overall too. Much better competition. From the guys I really sort of registered those three, Alex & Savosin did nothing for me, especially Savosin who needs an emergency intervention. What is the point of two quads if you're struggling to keep up with a 13yo otherwise? I am not sure how much he can improve but to some extent I am sure he can and I respect his hard work so it'd be a shame if he didn't work on the components a bit. Hopefully this competition showed him in little Egor that he has to pull up that second mark.

 

BTW, people keep calling Egor, Igor but is he Yegor actually, in pronunciation?

And I do relate to insomnia because of fatigue. Hope you catch up on sleep soon.

That's the problem. 5:30 Moscow time is 3:30 for me.... I think I may only manage to catch up the last two groups, IF I wake up at 5:30.

we don't have that many names starting with Э, which would be a true E. Eleanora comes to mind - but that's an exotic name.

It's not a true figure skating season unless you're sitting up at 3am grumbling about live-streams and time-differences and wondering just what food you have in the fridge to get you through it

Yeah, Yuri and Yegor are ultimately forms of Georgi. So I had two acquaintances/friends, both were Georgi by their passport, one preferred to be called Yuri, the second Yegor. But you can get Yuri or Yegor in your passport too. 

Or Ksenia and Oksana are the same name too - one is a Russian form, the second is Ukrainian. But loads of Ksenias and Oksanas around....
