February 3, 20224 yr I think Yuzu will arrive on Friday - in a couple of hours probably. So he can practice at the main rink on Saturday, then two more practices at the practice rink and one more practice at the main rink on Tuesday morning before men's sp. If he does not arrive tomorrow, only then i will start to stress out. Jun also only arrived today. I was 50:50 whether to expect him to compete on team event or not. Unless something sudden happened to him (please no!), he probably just carefully considered all the pros and cons and decided what is best for him at this moment and i think those reasons are what others have already posted here. His practice on Tuesday begins at 7:50 am. So probably has to wake up at 5:something am. The previous day, there is team medal ceremony around noon, then probably media stuff and in the evening a real team medal ceremony and probably more media stuff with live interviews and taking pictures with medals. I have no idea whether this could be one of his reasons but the schedule is brutally tiring and at least he can rest more. But anyway, cannot wait to finally see him. Hopefully everything will go well for him

Honestly, team event is completely insignificant - if it was after regular competition it would be fine as a fluff event, but here, quite a joke. Did you know for that Ashley Wagner, for example, is also Olympics medalist? So really I don't care about hes participation here but I want to know the reason to be calm I'm not usually like this...

February 3, 20224 yr As much as I've been on YUZU WATCH 2022 waiting and updating Twitter all day to see if he arrives... I don't think he's injured, if he was I am sure the JSF would've been all over it and already had the substitute announced already. My guess is he doesn't want to participate in public practices much this time around. Especially since every 4A attempt will be on a hundred cameras. I also suspect he wants to minimize his time in the Olympic Village since one contact could get him a positive test result. He'll probably arrive tomorrow (or Friday) at some point. If he doesn't come then, then he really would be cutting it close.
February 3, 20224 yr I'm actually glad that Yuzu didnt participate in the team event.I think it is unnecessary to have the team event now ..looking at the team seats arrangement and cheering will only increase the chances of covid spreading and for me the olympic team event is just an excuse to give extra medal to big feds in figure skating.Individual medal is worth more in my opinion.Besides there is already a few skaters that have tested positive in the bubble..so the risk is very high.

My guess yuzu will arrive at Beijing after TE ends or at least at 5th Feb .. It will be weird if he arrived early and didn't participate in TE. Let's wait and don't worry too much. JSF wouldn't keep him in TJ till now if he's injured and had to WD right? I also thought TE is insignificant. Imagine if someone medal at TE when in the actual competition he/she's bombed their SP/FS and got low rank... Just because other skater in other field (pairs/ID/Male/Female individual) performed greatly and have a good place or being first, the one who messed up could win too. What a joke.
