...and yeah, you nearly died, but you stayed and put them out with your feet, and this I think was  absolutely brave, honestly!!

I am quite sure I would have run.

:goe:

That was the only way to get out. Fun times, my fav part of the day was being attacked by vicious pack of ring-tailed lemurs demanding raisins

..never had contact with a lemur, but I am sure I would prefer them as well..

( They seem to only demand raisins, not life or sanity of mind).

...now I am curious: how long did you work at the zoo, if you permit the question?

About a month, before my uni course started, but I was lucky enough to work with primates, carnivores (lions, tigers, bears, otters, pantheras etc.) and exotic birds

I see, thank you. It sounds like fascinating work, but also very taxing/horrifying at times!

I am not a very animal- person myself, exept for cats, fish, birds...I am scared easily by animals..could not do this kind of job.:8066338:

...next week, there is an outing planned at work. As a special favour we get the opportunity to visit a horse farm. I will not go, I will remain at work. None of my co- workers understand .

But that is life.

A house lizard once refused to move from the center of my bed. I regularly found it there for a week.

Aww cute, but it must have been inconvenient

Having wild lizards in the house is such a strange concept to me :8066338:

Did some research (aka, using the colloquial name of the animal on google) and apparently what we have here are geckos!

Yes, house lizards a.k.a. geckos  The one lives around my house (my ally no.1) usually stays outside of the windows, so there’s not much trouble in coexisting with them. At night it comes to one of the windows and eats bugs lured to the light leaked from inside of my house. On stormy days it comes inside to take shelter, but goes back on the window once the storm is gone. In Japan, geckos are called yamori (in Chinese characters 守宮 or 家守 = house guardian) and considered to be an animal which brings you luck.

I lived in a Southern country for a short time and I saw many bigger geckos there, they just loved the sun! When I saw one of them on the wall, it scared me a bit but then we became friends really quickly :rofl:At home, we have small geckos but they always stay outside in the nature.

We also have regular visitors like squirrels, hedgehogs, martens and in summer nights, bats, too. Squirrels and hedgehogs are cute, but martens are aggressive and loud. Bats usually appear at my window late in the evening, so I make sure I close my windows when they try to come in uninvited

Sometimes I meet foxes in the street too. Once I walked alone in the street in the winter and I saw one a bit far away, staring me, and I thought what an usual looking dog that was with his long tails, long ears and a different nose - then I realised it was actually a fox. :confused0066:

Reminded me of when I saw a civet cat in my neighborhood. I thought what a strange looking cat with a long tail stretched straight backward, not upward. As I got close to it, it looked back at me as confused as I must have looked. Then I realized it wasn’t confused, it just looked that way because of the white hair in its face.

...oh my god, I just saw, you posted this DAYS ago!!! Sorry!! Hope, you are well already!!!

Already recover but it took me a couple of days to get rid of the sore throat and since i basically have to scream everyday (teacher for profession), it did not help much.

But I'm perfectly fine now! :thankyou: for the concern ^^

I'm grateful for geckos bc they eat scorpions and i hate those ugly things since one of them stung me and i nearly died from anaphylactic shock :P #justdesertthings

Ouch! It must have been quite an awful experience :consoling2:

My knowledge of geckos is that they are those very small lizards so I didn't know they were capable of eating scorpions (considering how deadly a scorpion can be)

Yeh, i was eight at the time. It's one of the two times i've been scared because i really felt like i was going to die (and this got dark pretty fast sorry haha)

And yeah, apparently they do eat scorpions :P fun fact: i got that reaction because i'm allergic to scorpion venom. My grandma was stung too but she didn't have any issues (i think most of my family has been stung at least once by a scorpion...) but so far i am the only one who nearly died because of it :P
