According to what I've read, they were just as shocked and blind-sided by what the girls were saying. At this point those kids need deprogramming, not a contract.

I can understand how frustrating this has to be for Hybe - dealing with these delusional children.  nj could not truly comprehend just how much they are damaging themselves.  But I don't care.  At what point does Hybe's legal department call the bluff and accept their "cancellation', sue them for what they owe Hybe and prohibit them, legally, from using the name.   Just hoping that no other company tries to sign them, which would just be stupid. A lot of money and time was invested in training these girls and promoting them.  The money will be recouped - and even if they can find another company to take them on, without their name or any of their previous hits, would it be worth it?

TBH, this isn't my type of music (I don't like Jazz in general), but the music, the acting, the MV create a cinematic experience. I almost cried - I felt the melancholy so deeply. And even though it's 6:22, it didn't feel that long. Park Hyo Shin has an incredible voice - I'm not sure, but I think DJ Jino said this is the guy that's widely considered the best singer in S Korea. My one very minor nitpick is that Park Hyo Shin's pronunciation is so good that it makes you notice V's slight imperfections. It's not something I even think about normally, but the contrast makes it stand out a bit more.

Regsrding Winter Ahead: I absolutely live for music like this- Tae's and my tastes are kind of similar that way - so I'm glorying in it. Tae's voice is just like a deep, rich, plummy chocolate cake, while Park Hyo Shin's comes in like a sweet-salty, not too heavy,  layer of salted caramel shortbread on top... the combination becomes as lush as any dessert when topped with the lavish jazz instrumentation... oh, I'm in love with this song, all right.

The video? Eh, not so much. I couldn't help but feel while watching it that it's partly one of Tae's gentle jokes on ARMY. I wonder if he made it enigmatic on purpose so that he could have lots of fun reading all the ARMY theories about it.

Of course he looks amazing in it, though.

Why would Tae's unit be into snow removal?  That seems to me to be the sort of the the civil service people, like Yoongi, would be tasked with.

The MV is chaotic and, to be honest, it seems like multiple ideas crammed into one.  Beautiful voices, though.

So interesting how devided our opinions are. I love the mv, especially that he looks so much like on/black swan era.

Do I like the song? Yes. Will I listen to it on repeat? No. A song for when the mood is right.

Pretty sure all units do the snow removal in their units area/base, I mean, someone needs to do it🤷🏼‍♀️

I get the impression that in SK, the soldiers do all the snow-shovelling needed at their bases. Which would not be a trivial task

Not my cup of tea either but V does what he likes and that's okay. The MV is amazing, just like a movie. Great job, Tae and Park Hyo Shin.

I definitely misinterpreted the MV. I thought he was mourning the loss of someone he loved and the "Winter Ahead" referred to having to live without her and he was sculpting the statue in remembrance and longing. I'm kind of glad that I misunderstood - I don't think it would have hit me as much emotionally if I thought it was a Pygmalion story.

There was at least 1 naughty fan at the show in Japan. Fan cams are interesting because they tend to differentiate the live voice from the backtrack more clearly than broadcasts.

this reminds me, @Faithyu, I think when most people talk about lip synching, they're referring to when the artist is trying to pass off a performance as live singing. It's common practice to use a backing track to support live singing to fill in potential gaps and allow the singer to take breaths and rest when necessary but this isn't the same as pretending to sing. When Jin did his Happy special stages in Korea, they had loud backing tracks that were very prominent in the broadcast but on the fan cams, you could very clearly hear Jin's live singing throughout the specials. If you interpret lip synching loosely, you could argue that he lip synched, but most people don't consider singing on top of a backtrack the same thing. There were very obvious parts where he wasn't singing and you could hear his voice but since he wasn't trying to pass it off as live singing, I don't consider it lip synching.

Thats exactly what I meant.

You can see this especially well when you have a song with a lot of modified voice features, like Yeonjun's Gumm. A person can not sing like that. So when he performed it live, you could clearly hear when he would sing and when the backing track was playing. Sometimes he mouthed along to the parts he wasn't singing, but noone would say "oh, he is lip synching", cause these parts can't be sung live, but they are fun parts, of course he would sing along with them.

Or with TXT's "goodboy gone bad". I think they only sing half of the repeated "goodboy gone bad" frase, cause of the modifications and you can clearly hear it (when its just the backing track and when they sing over it).

Most people who accuse a certain k-pop artists of not singing live just want to provoke and stir up trouble in the fandoms.

Different topic, the mma awards are currently live streamed and I'm confused (and irritated that kakao has parts in it or is a sponsor).

I just watched when the album of the year award was announced and they said "the nominees had albums with extraordinary success in the melon music charts"......then they showed the nominees and I was like "huh???". No seventeen, no txt, no stray kids, no illit, non of our guys.....but day6, this virtual group, aespa and the others were artists I have never heard before. So, work the melon charts differently (oh, and aespa won, of course) or what is going on there?

Jungkook did win at MMA.  Best male solo (2nd year in a row), "top ten artist" and "millions top ten" - whatever that means.

Didn't they just change the criteria for wins?

And Hobi sunshine.  I believe that being a member of BTS and years of being "j-hope" brought out the true inner Hoseuk.  Without BTS, he'd still have been a taskmaster att whatever he did, but I believe the sunny sweet might not have developed.
