No wonder she is so creative when it comes to designing costumes. Now, I'm waiting for her to write a fantasy novel inspired by Yuzu. i wonder if yuzuru watched the japanese dub of game of thrones hahaahahah

Cuz I've seen people (who like Yuzu otherwise) say that the performance he gave in Sochi free skate was pretty much trash. I rarely post here but I take this as a safe space where I can feel that I'm not the only one who finds value in lots of aspects of Yuzuru's skating, not just in his fully clean performances. His FS in Sochi was not as polished as his later ones, yet still at a higher level than that of other skaters. The 4T is gorgeous. The spins are beautiful. I have another related question. Please refer to the video below. I’m wondering why Yuzu’s 3F at 39:37 was judged as a fall and received a 1-point deduction, while Patrick’s 4T at 30:53 and 3A at 31:08 did not, even though all three jumps involved both hands touching the ice and neither skater’s buttocks touched the ice. Under the current rule, a fall is defined as a situation in which “the majority of his/her own body weight is on the ice, supported by any part of the body other than the blades, e.g. hand(s), knee(s), back, buttock(s), or any part of the arm.” To me, the loss of balance on Yuzu’s 3F looks very similar to Patrick’s on his 3A. That’s why I’m confused about why Patrick’s 3A did not receive the same 1-point deduction, and maybe his 4T as well.

I am not well-versed in how the judges decide things so maybe someone else with more knowledge than me could weigh in

In Patrick's 3A, both of his hands touched the ice but not concurrently. However, Patrick also put both hands down **at the same time** in his 4T. To me, the distinction is very small, and Yuzu lost 1pt, but Patrick didn't. My feeling is that Patrick got a slight advantage here. Fortunately, it didn't affect the ranking.
Yuzurella Posted Wednesday at 09:33 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:33 PM Clips of Yuzu skating in his Couture on Ice costumes. He looks magnificent!

Yuzurella Posted Thursday at 06:34 PM Posted Thursday at 06:34 PM The clips are from NHK's Yuzu segment. He is truly a cat!

I think its more of where and how their weight is being distributed in the "fall/step out". Yuzu's foot seemed to slip out more when he puts his hands down and he catches himself enough to step out so his hands supported a lot more of his weight. Its almost like his weight transferred mostly to his hands for a split second to get his feet back under him. While Patricks step out was more his one hand only having some but not most weight on it and his feet supported the rest as he stepped out and he place both hand down by only the fingertips demonstrating both hands were balancing him but his weight was mainly on his feet. Honestly its hard to tell where a persons weight is and they both seem to be riding the edge of meeting what the isu considers a fall. I'm assuming the technical panel had more video angles to analyze their blades and edges to come to that conclusion. Maybe since Yuzuru is newer at this time he hasnt had as many of his crazy saves showing his edge control and keeping his weight more towards his feet. And Patrick who is known for deep edges and can keep his weight on his skates well with deep edges just has that slight advantage over Yuzuru. But a disclaimer as someone who isnt the most knowledgeable about figure skating this is only a guess.

Agree, this is truly awesome. I also hope that the collaboration items will be available in Disney stores on line around the world. Disney store UK sometimes carries limited lines of Japan store items. We can publicise on twitter and other social media platforms where the goods might be advertised that the global fan base are really interested to buy the Winnie the Pooh and Yuzu goods. In pragmatic terms the copyright licensing on Pooh is coming to an end and in reality now that Pooh as a character can be produced by any manufacturer, everyone who currently holds licences to produce WtP merchandise will be seeking to boost sales. As we Fanyus know, anything associated with Yuzu will be almost instantly sold out. Perhaps that is why the Yuzu collaboration will launch towards the end of the year in autumn and give chance for the Disney toy suppliers to have an enormous stock pile of goodies prepared in advance for the certain demand.
