And so the pattern was interrupted. I wouldn't use that as the basis upon which to predict/conclude whether or not he would land 4Lz in the future.

 

This part especially, super important! 

I know many peeps are stressed and it's understandable but this is a great thing to always remember. Of course it won't be a walk in the park to get it all back but it'll be because the 4Lz is such as it is, not an easy jump at all, and not so much because it is inherently an iffy thing when it comes to Zu. Knock on wood, it'll be fine.

The real problem with future talk is, no matter how well we think we know Yuzu, we don't. He might feel pressure from us to do something he doesn't want to do; and pressuring him is the last thing we should do -- that said, I pray fervently every night that he stays healthy and strong so that IF he wants to win a third Olympic Gold, he doesn't have to kill himself to do it. A happy Yuzu is so much better than a distressed one. My favorite Yuzu, these days, is CiONTU Yuzu. I wish I could have been there. It was magic.

Like Brian said, Yuzu is the kind of person who operates best on following goals and he needs a new one since he fulfilled the goals of the tiny terror that was the mushroom Yuzu. (He is 23 and he fulfilled all good goals and I feel so inadequate, jfc). Quad Axel is just that, something he can use to motivate himself and go on. I don't think he has it ready or he has seriously worked on it now, but he would from now on, without the pressure of an impending Olympics. We should not expect it anytime soon but should be in serious watch out.

I wonder if he's doing all this research because he's trying to design a variation of the quad axle that gives him better control, since control is going to be seriously difficult with 4.5 revolutions at the height and speed he needs to make it possible.

(Giggles and claps happily)  I know, I set alarms in my calendar the moment I saw the announcement. I'm more excited about that than anything else right now. Period. Yuzu was so kind to leave us all this content before he disappears for 3-4 months.

 It was awfully nice of the man!
I know it's a long shot and probably no FaOI but even if so, this was so good, that it'll definitely help us survive the summer drought, or at least until August!
