  2. Well at first Kanako was really hyped too. So no surprise ;)) I think Satoko isn't a lock anymore. Mai has the advantage of her technique, and I agree with Joey, she might outscore her with better programs. Wakaba needs consistency outside Japan. At home competitions she always did well: look at nationals, she did pretty great Every year. With 3 spots it'd be enough, now it isn't. So unfair. I think Marin is messy yes, but this year she suffered a lot from the stress the media put on her, next year she won't have much to loose. And she really isn't any less consistent than Wakaba tbh. Imo.
  3. Her team doesn't seem to know what to do with all her talent. Her layouts are usually a suicide...so I hope "want to highlight speed" won't mean empty programs tbh. Imo her programs this year were good enough, they showed her growth a lot.
  4. Mm, I would have liked it if she tried it in SP too, I guess it isn't that consistent yet. I hope they won't go for programs that highlight her speed only. That would be a step back imo.
This person called the promoter and found out Yuzu will not be appearing on DOI. The promoter also said that they have been receiving so many inquiries about Yuzu appearing, they might make an announcement of the official DOI Website
  7. Yep, it just doesn't feel really balanced to me, like there's too much of a difference between upper body movement and lower body. It's probably a kind of music that isn't easy to adapt to figure skating, as you said, a program requires a certain flow that would probably be difficult to obtain if they sticked to the music more. As for tango(s), I liked some, did not like others. But it's usually a kind of music that I don't like to see for programs in most cases xD
  8. I think I got what you meant, and I do agree, that's part of it.
  9. Lol I have no idea xD I have liked some programs in the past, but I usually think most flamenco/tango programs lack that fire/sharp movements I expect in my head? I don't think it's possible to really portray that music at its best in a way, and kind of loathe how most people go for the intense glare and think that it's enough for it to be great xD I think they'll go with something different...maybe something less subtle and that highlights her powerful skating more. I really liked this version of Wakaba, she did look really mature, but maybe they'll want something that highlights her speed and power more, I don't know. I think La califfa was a really "quiet but powerful" kind of program, in a way, so they might go for something totally different. I use the juniorish vs senior more for programs themselves rather than interpretation. But I do think that Wakaba at her age has a more mature interpretation than some older ladies. It looked like she improved a lot this year when it came to getting into character, she really seemed to have that something more when she skated. (maybe I'm biased )
  10. I have problems with flamenco in fs, I rarely enjoy tango too. I really wonder which music they'll chose this season. I loved La califfa so hopefully she'll have good programs again. She looks so mature anyway c.c
  11. Ahaha I had guessed you'd appreciate it xD not a fan of the program personally, but she's always a pleasure to watch yes she's so gorgeous *^*
  12. https://mobile.twitter.com/ice_skeota/status/863723843549937664/video/1 Wakaba at PIW in case someone is interested
  13. Yu/Jin were pretty much perfect together for me. Peng/Jin are not a polished pair. Honestly, live Yu/Zhang looked better...but for me both pairs lack chemistry. Regarding Zhang...he did not look that bad at gpf to me. But I don't want to judge, many people already talk about Yu as if she was skating alone, that is quite disturbing imo.
  14. I think Yu/Jin had so much chemistry together. Now they have 3 strong pairs so the switch worked in part, but I think Yu/Jin had much more potential together. That aside, love those photos, she's gorgeous Glad to know I'm not alone in thinking Yu/Jin still had more potential. I absolutely loved them together, and while I see that the switch "worked out" as in medal and success prospects, I'd still love to have Yu/Jin back, simply for the selfish wish to see a pair that really has something special for me, not just one that "works". But in the end, I can't do anything but wish them all the best. I hope Peng/Jin continue to improve too, they're charming. And those pictures are just amazing. Xiaoyu has something so regal and "unreal" about her look, it's just stunning Agreed. Yu/Jin had that "something more", the kind of feeling that very few pairs can give you. They had so much potential, it's a shame not to see them together anymore. I honestly thought they'd become China's n.2 after Sui/Han pretty soon. Yu/Zhang and Peng/Jin may get the results, but I don't really see them giving me the same feelings. I also think that, results and feels aside, Yu/Jin had so much quality on some elements. Yes it's unreal how beautiful she is
  15. Xiaoyu is always such an embodiment of elegance! Hao Zhang is skillful and all, and they have good comp results together, but sometimes I can't help wondering what if she could pair with someone who's got style and an aura like she does... Btw, Xiaoyu has recently won an award, the name roughly translates into something like "Beijing Youths of Excellence," I think. I think Yu/Jin had so much chemistry together. Now they have 3 strong pairs so the switch worked in part, but I think Yu/Jin had much more potential together. That aside, love those photos, she's gorgeous
  16. You can find the other photos here https://mobile.twitter.com/purplelove301
  17. I apologize for being off the current topic. Riku and Shoya have actually been training together for at least 2 years now. However, this past season was their first competing internationally. With Ami Koga's unfortunate injury and dissolved partnership with Spencer Akira Howe, Riku and Shoya were sent to Mentor Torun Cup to gain the minimum TES needed to qualify for WJC. They've recently started working on a 3LzTh. It still needs work, but on April 15, both Riku and Shoya uploaded a clip to their twitter accounts (@BestShoya @miurariku1217) of them practicing this throw jump. I would've posted a link but can't since it's my first post here. Also, for anyone interested and able to read Japanese, back on September 25, 2015, Shoya retweeted a link to an interview he did with J Sports where he talks about his experience as a beginner Pairs skater. Sorry, but I am not proficient enough to translate. Rikako and Aru have been skating together since 2014. You've probably seen them compete before since they've participated in JGPs and WJC for the past two seasons. With Rikako and Aru moving to Seniors next season, there seems to be a lot of anticipation for promising Ice Dance team of Utana Yoshida and Takumi Sugiyama to make their Junior debut. Don't apologise this is great :yay: So happy to see promising pairs and dance teams. Throw 3lz is more than i'd ever expected tbh xD
  18. I don't think moving to seniors so quickly might be bad for him. When I look at junior girls and see that Kihira can't move to seniors I'm relieved, because she still needs to refine a lot of things, but I'm glad Cha can move to seniors. Besides the fact that they were robbing him anyway, I think experiencing Olympic games at home will really help him in his road to 2022, when he will (hopefully) be a contender for a medal. Re quads, I'm not worried. He is working on loop and toe, but he is with Brian and I'm pretty sure they will not rush anything. I expect him to try toeloop next year, while 4s is surely going to be in the SP...but I seriously doubt they'll ever sacrifice quality for them. Hope you can see him live, his ss are really good  And his ina 3lo in the FP this year was lovely. (And the mushroom hair is so fun to see when he spins :rofl2: )
  19. I think that's official basically. How many recycled programs/music :hachimaki: I am starting to hate the Olympic season :acceptable:
  20. I'm not really sure (since I don't remember where I saw this lol) but I think the show should air soon? May 14th? But then again, not sure.
  21. Yep I guess so. And they need to give Kaori better programs too, so... I had hoped she'd get one by Massimo too, is she getting both programs done with Richaud? I would have not minded another program with Yuka Sato either.
  22. he was also one who choreographed for Ivett .. he has some good programs too. This year's programs right? Because last year's were by Sebestyen I think. Wasn't a huge fan tbh, but better than Carmina Burana I guess. I had hoped for different choreographers let's say.
  23. Oh God, he's the one who choreographed Liza T.'s Carmina Burana right? I'm suddenly really afraid of that :omg:
  24. Samarin chooses the coolest music though! I haven't seen him live, but I really enjoy his programs on TV. I honestly think Samarin is one of the most overscored skaters I've ever seen xD His programs are really empty, his skating isn't great at all and I wasn't impressed by IN or PE either. The PCS he receives are a mistery for me.
  25. Samarin is honestly a pain to see live (SS and TR, not found) so...maybe Aliev? But he's so inconsistent... Kolyada is pretty nice all around but his programs don't do it for me.
