  1. I saw this tweet that I found informative. The chart shows how Yuzu's scores didn't go up in spite of performing more complex programs and he getting better and better. And as you say @Melodiewe don't know much of the politics of JSF, but for what I have read they have not been very subtle. Won't go deeper into that as it might be a topic more suitable for the Salt Mines
  2. I might be jumping late into this but I think the time is ripe for the letter. Of course, we have seen how the unfairness has affected Yuzu, but this goes way beyond him. ISU (and the feds) need to be made accountable. If Yuzu went through this, others might as well though they cannot say anything because they don't have the fan base and sponsorship support to be able to voice the mistreatment. Imagine those skaters who want to continue involved in competitive figure skating as coaches or choreographers. They have to stay quiet.
  3. Yuzu went on the 20th. But it seems that the timeline is OK, see the post below.
  4. My pleasure! There is so much info coming out in little pieces and at times when we are not necessarily watching... it gets very confusing. I have kept adding new interviews to the thread (like the one from News 'Zero'). BTW, I started my 'campaign' of asking Japanese Media to share some of the interviews and the press conference with English Subtitles. I ended up posting a request under a post from Asahi TV with images of the Special Program with Yuzu. You can give it a like or add your own requests. Let me dream that we can get something
  5. I have been thinking that we should start requesting to Japanese TV stations to provide subbed interviews. At least the press conference and the key interviews like the one with Shuzo (after all some of us access Asahi TV through Japan TV and similar services... so we are clients?). Not to be pushy, but this is such a huge announcement and we get 10% of what is going around and only thank to fans that translate the info... and we know that grasping the right meaning to convey the message can be super tricky. Perhaps we can post a request under some key media on Twitter? E.g. Asahi TV, NHK. If they see enough request in English perhaps we get something?
  6. Axel with Wings will probably translate the Press Conference and perhaps the Interview with Shuzo-san? But that will probably take some time. There are some videos with English subs of Yuzu's opening remarks for the press conference posted by @sarah_sohma on Twitter. And Tsukiyominoasa shared written translation (it's quite good). I started compiling written English translation and subbed videos on this folder. This is my little treasure, so please treat it carefully. I really want everyone to find happiness in Yuzu's words and plans for the future: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/18qocBihezkQVKWqm4pVREuc7OsBrw2Gx?usp=sharing
  7. There might be ways.... it's like Japan wanting Yuzu involved in the bid for the Winter Olympics 2030. He being involved in a pro-competition can bring sponsors, but the organization, judging, etc, can be done by an impartial 3rd party (assisted by AI technology?). We have been dealing with a non-impartial party for years (AKA ISU), so I am sure that almost any option is better and fairer.
  8. The "retirement" discourse that came up from the language barrier was really annoying me after seeing Yuzu so carefully choosing his words to convey his RESOLUTION, to highlight that this is a new stage where he will continue challenging himself and he wants us to be excited. He also made a huge point to differentiate between pro-skater (taking it easy, or dedicating pro career to mostly artistry) and pro-athlete for a reason. So, I started collecting the different threads available on Twitter with translation of different interviews. I keep adding to the thread when I find something new. So, this could be if not your one stop to really get into what Yuzu really wanted to share with us, at least a good place to start. Within the thread, I HIGHLY recommend watching the videos of the interview of Yuzu with Shuzo-san and reading Tsukiyomi's translaiton of Yuzu's interview with Sport Hochi. for those on Twitter, and if you feel like it, I would really appreciate if you can help me spread these translations as there are many fans that are missing relevant information to understand Yuzu's motivation, the physical and emotional struggles, his huge commitment to fans, his intentions and plans, and what he expect from us. iIunderstand the anxiety for not knowing when we will see him on the ice again, but we will need to be patients. He has something in the making but knowing how speculations work, he won't tell us until the details are clearer. For now, let's deal with the wave of emotions, lets accept our longing, but let's also embrace hope. It's Yuzu, king of setting up goals and realizing them who is asking us to stay with him and being excited about this new stage. He wants to show us what he can do now and how much he can improve! https://twitter.com/pep_on_/status/1550143449558499328?s=20&t=9RgZxDRWm74NWRDXO4bN4w
  9. Well... I will say that YES, there is a plan in the work to do something to show Yuzu that we are here and we not only support him but actually expect great things from him in this new stage! (he himself asked for this from fans, so we will deliver). We will share info once we have the details and instructions.
  10. I don't know, I haven't seen any information about it. The Olympic channel would be the most likely one though
  11. Thanks for compiling. Here is another list (and are repeated). The Olympic channel while also show the press conference: This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  12. All the these media outlets are not providing any additional information. Just repeating the same that the unethical Nikkan Sports published. This is looking very similar to when the Japanese Skating Federation updated Yuzu's profile on its website. All media outlets took that short statement (the same that Yuzu had last year) and made headlines with it, without any additional information or checking the sources. Just one online sports newspaper tried to get more info from the JSF, and their answer was quite vague from what I understood. Yuzu decided to hold this press conference to avoid more speculation. Even if info was leaked, it doesn't replace the depth of what he will tell us and the opportunity of Q&A where he is in command of the answers.
  13. There has always been so many beautiful things written about Yuzuru. Some have been directly inspired by working with him, others have received inspiration by following his career, like the LinkedIn article shared by @Yuzuwinnie There is also a book, 強く美しく鍛える30のメソッド (translation: 'Strongly, beautifully, 30 methods to train’), written by Akira Kikuchi (Yuzu's trainer/therapist) that also has a lot of heartwarming and very emotional moments where Kikuchi-san shares his experience working with Yuzu. This twitter post shares links to a fan made translation of the book:
  14. Let's wait for the assignments giving this video of Seimei on the Olympics YouTube channel the views it needs to reach 28 M!!!!
  15. It seems we still have some ours before we get the announcement (and I might even be able to sleep!). It's astonishing how we are all sharing the anxiety in real time, though we are in extremely different time zones 😅
  16. You have no idea how much I'm praying, lightening candles, asking saints, pagan gods, etc. For Yuzu to get assigned or invited to Skate Canada. And that he doesn't go to NHK but to one of the European places instead. I saw a post on Twitter half joke/ half serious saying that SC started selling tickets before GP assignments because they knew Yuzu won't be there. The prices were too reasonable and they could have charged twice the price if they waited until the assignments 😭😭😭 I can only hope, and wait.
  17. Awwww, what a beautiful collection . Cannot believe you manage to get wolfy! He has been in very high demand.
  18. He is trending in Mexico, Canada, US, Japan, Singapore... And a few hours after we started the Pooh Rain, he was trending in Chile and Argentina. And we are still on! 🥰❤️‍🔥
  19. For those worried about copyrights: 1) If you own a Pooh, take a picture and post it 2) Post pictures from Wikimedia Commons or with Creative Commons License (you can search those on Google Images and use the filter). 3) Post your OWN illustration of Pooh or Yuzu/Pooh 4) Twitter has Yuzu/Pooh GIFs, just start writing your post as usual and instead of selecting an emoji, look for a GIF typing: Yuzu 5) I out together a couple of photos of Pooh and Yuzu/Pooh HERE 6) One of our creative artists posted a Pooh fanart on the Fanart section of PH:
  20. It sounds like the best TV schedule EVER!!!
  21. A TV channel in Sendai will broadcast FaOI Kobe, and they will have a special interview with Yuzu. https://twitter.com/orangesrgd/status/1544525936682340352?t=_7AJiXQ2-I-KDhU3Hyzo3g&s=19
  22. So well captured! It even has the letter that @sunrise mentioned, hehehe
  23. We started sharing the instructions for the Virtual Pooh Rain on Twitter. Help us share by re-twitting and get ready for Thursday!!!! Thanks Planet Hanyu for sharing the post on PH Twitter
  24. Thanks to all those who provided feedback. I have updated the information on the original post and the event on the PH Calendar. I will post a reminder so that you are all ready for this! I will also share the Twitter post with the info and instructions in case you want to share on your timeline.
  25. I totally understand the tradition. That's why this is also a test run we will use to celebrate the new season and increase the reach for the actual virtual Pooh rain for competitions. Let's remember that there are lots of new fans that are not members of PH (and maybe they are not very aware of this wonderful place). And actually, I have seen on twitter quite an appetite for Pooh rains, so we better get ready for the real thing 😄. I agree that the Pooh rain is not to be used lightly. Other fans can then come up with other ideas depending on the situation and organize different campaigns. I'll edit the original post to "First Test of Virtual Pooh Rain to Welcome the New Season", and will fix the "w" typo. As per hashtags, it's a good idea using one that's already in use in addition to the suggested ones with his name (those are the ones usually used on Twitter). As the actual pooh rain is for competitions, perhaps we can use #LoveYuzuruFromAllOverTheWorld instead of #GlobalPoohRain. Thank you for all the suggestions!!!
