ISU Congress 2022 (6-10 June)
Sun_Rise replied to sallycinnamon's topic in Knickknacks: General Skating Chat
WIth rotations it is already possible with high quality slow motion, but even this is not utilised by the judges. It is also possible to have a 3D picture based on material coming from videos. In Saitama there were two 4k cameras. @Wintek super cool finding and yes, inertia sensors have their advantage over videos and could possibly detect prerotation or other aspects of the take-off (as well as the whole jump/movement). Btw imagine Yuzu records all the fs movements with these sensors and creates a database of Yuzuru Hanyu skating! EDIT: Now I thought he could have done that already, "knowing" him. -
ISU Congress 2022 (6-10 June)

Fujitsu comes as another obvious candidate and they offer yet another motion capture technology currently implemented to gymnastics, which is a 3D laser. Reportedly, the ISU has also been at least reviewing the technology to possibly adapt it to fs (but, again, it's all bits and pieces we're receiving). With gymnastics it was clear that it was about Japanese brand first pairing with Japanese feds, then with the International Gymnastics Assoc. before the OG in Tokyo. Japanese government supported it to present the country as a leader in introducing innovative technology to sport. -
ISU Congress 2022 (6-10 June)

Yuzuru used Perception Neuron 2 from Noiton, a Chinese company (they have their offices also in Tokyo, Miami, LA). This is a system with really small, non-invasive sensors, currently offered as Perception Neuron 3 branded as the world's smallest motion capture system. However, altogether, the way he applied the system may be unique. We still don't have a full version of his thesis and maybe there is a very good reason for it. -
An example of his duality and the ability to demonstrate it within seconds.
-
Then, he opens the letter from the ISU officials starting with: "Dear Sir, could you be so kind as to...", but suddenly stops reading, only to start his famous laugh:
-
Exactly, haha! He's got so much capital (various types of) and in general various types of assets and power - perhaps it's high time he utilises them also here.
-
This is super speculative, but they may be even negotiating with Yuzuru himself now. Maybe this is the reason why this is all delayed.
-
So Finland is confirmed, after all? I've seen it in different places on tw but otherwise it's been quite silent about this particular change, perhaps still speculative.
-
I absolutely love it, made my day, smiled for hours. Yuzuru's lip-syncing always recommended whenever you have a challenging day and need a reminder that it's best to just be yourself. His complete investment in and connection with the music regardless of everything around, another example of how his free soul works - and that I always find super inspiring about him.
-
@YuDai I agree with you, said something similar, but don't remember in which thread.
-
But this will be an indication of him staying rather than withdrawing if he's assigned, won't it? On the other hand, he was talking about how fs is a sport, how he is an athlete, perhaps I just wanted to read too much between the lines, but that could be a sign of him intending to compete. We also got a hint of Raison being a gala programme. Although that was something David said, not Yuzu himself, but could, again, mean it was Yuzu who originally asked David to help him with another "gala" program. So I guess I choose to over interpret in this direction, for now, at least, perhaps to escape still fresh post-FaOI melancholy.
-
I agree - I think he looks smart and edgy, sleek and stylish. Higher black collar seemingly covers the neck, but in reality exposes it, plus face lines are nicely framed and sharpened together with his gaze, it's not without meaning that his black hair is matched, too and then the red strip only adds that necessary sparkle.

Very impressed. Perhaps this type of co-creation is the best for him now. It really works, the result is great, so fresh, so new. No way! I suspected he was an alien sent to mess with our minds.

We've been hours from the end of the show and I can see people everywhere still super emotional not able to get over it. Fandom totally torn by various feelings - of love, happiness, enormous gratitude, but also melancholy, despair, longing. I've been still processing myself, wondering whether it has always been like that.
-
Exactly this! We had so many jumps from him. He gave it all to this performance, it was perfect. He was emotional, he loves skating, performance, contact with the audience, he loves all of this so much, he got emotional and teary, and perhaps overwhelmed. Im also still processing.

Exactly! It's been so silent now. Yes, he was tearing up. Gosh, this is hard.
-
We're not excessively worried, are we. He's just tired, it's the last show.
-
This is much more difficult than I thought!

"Show must go on" but it's the last show.

She looks as if she could live forever, indeed.

Stephane and Jason both used the choreographic fall, too.
-
I simply like watching her moves.

A trick with the dress - nice. Enjoying their performance a lot.
