  1. I LOOOOVE zooming in on HD photos to look for the detail in his costumes. It's exquisite
  2. It's such bollocks that they don't allow for slow-mo checking of everything, specially seeing as the use of technology is spreading to many other sports. It makes everyone's life easier and gives a much fairer image. I know people who enjoy the skating but don't follow the sport because they feel the judging is too influenced by petty politics and the like and the scoring's not fair. Saying it can't be implemented because audiences can't handle to wait a bit more for scores... *sigh*
  3. Loving all the Believe photos! I'm not usually one for orange, but that shirt is glorious (and he looks so good in it <3) :goe: AGREED :goe:
  4. Pets for a good boy. (I assume we would all volunteer XD)
  5. The planet's gonna be too small to contain us at the rate we're going... Hanyu Galaxy, anyone? XD
  6. Yep. Stamina training + 4Lz training, killing two birds with one stone. Apparently it went good enough to make some people worried at Worlds :D
  7. Shoma would definitely be better off sticking to the 4S and avoiding the problematic lutz, but we'll see. (Just know that if he does try the 4(f)lutz and doesn't get called on it I will probably set myself on fire :rotfl:)
  8. Youngsters have always tried to get to the top quickly by upgrading their tech since it takes less time than upgrading PCs, but this quad race is nuts. And, as Patrick indeed says, we won't see the effects of it until later. At least Yuzuru's sticking to his plan, and while he'll always upgrade something it's been gradual and I do believe he's taking care of himself now.
  9. This is what the judges are promoting with the way they're scoring GOEs and PCs lately, so while I'm mad I'm not surprised. Shoma will keep on adding "quads" as long as he doesn't get called on them, Nathan will keep on adding quads as long as the PCs come with them. And I can not blame them for sticking with what clearly works. (And then there's Boyang, who has clean jumps and is actually trying to work on some of the other stuff too but gets mostly overlooked *facepalm*)
  10. Exactly! The competitiveness should be between the two contenders, not brought through the media itself! But this is not only a Japanese thing. Russia also seems to have interesting politics depending from which area you train in. I mean, Japan's chances at an olympic gold medal just doubled, that should be a good thing! Yes, they have to compete against each other, but from a country's perspective your odds got better! It's a pity (and very petty) that politicks create this situations, but that's figure skating for you...
  11. ...I get the feeling Yuzu's going to win this one by a landslide
  12. Thing is, having two great horses in the race should be a good thing vs having just one, but. Guess this is where inside politicks come in and fuck the big picture
  14. He does have beautiful hands, doesn't he? Pretty sure we're not the only ones here with an appreciation for them  [image]http://imgur.com/sBM67UZ.jpg[/image]
  15. On tv. His textbook jumps. I mean you may think what you want, but this PR game is old, and Yuzu's been on the receiving end for years. It's just how this goes. Textbook jumps? Shoma?? I like the guy, but come on... I know why these things happen, but it still feels like throwing stones on their own roof when you look at the big picture: Yuzuru is undeniably HUGE, and whatever happens they'll be sure to miss his star-power when he's gone
  17. It's quite telling of the kind of person Yuzu is that we're talking about how going for a combo as 1st jumping pass in the SP or going back to the reliable 4T could make his life easier BUT at the same time we know he probably won't. Yuzu will do things the Yuzu way or not at all (and our cardiologists will keep getting rich at the expense of our streak of Yuzu-induced heart-attacks )
  18. I particularly like this photo: it's so serene, a quiet moment for himself :s_airkiss
  19. Day brightened indeed :goe: for them hips
  20. Already at a 1000+ members overnight, Planet Hanyu's gravity pull is strong indeed Also, good to see Shizuka coming out with the cold, hard truth. Sendai champions unite
  21. Since you mention Hana ni Nare: another beautiful costume in motion. Those sleeves   nonchan1023.tumblr.com[/link]
