Oh, news from ninja-land! Good to see :D

Yeah, when ever I see that or this lovely Lambiel 2006 Turin outfit I have to wonder what they were thinking. Oh my god. The magical zebra. Truly a classic [/nostalgia] (It's still terrible, though :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:)

And it completely undermines what has been done on ice. THAT Worlds FS wasn't enough for them? He scaled a very high wall and threw down the gauntlet. The main contenders had the door wide open and a big bowl of candy by the foyer. It's not Yuzuru's fault that they didn't pickup the gauntlet. Only Boyang did, but alas his PCS is not at that level yet. That's why I think Boyang Jin has a big chance to podium at Pyeongchang. EXACTLY! Yuzuru did as much as anyone could have done with the situation he was in. Most of his direct rivals went into the FS ahead of him, especially Shoma and Javi, so if they'd made just a little less mistakes that would've been it. But that's competition for you: you have a handful of minutes and that's it; many things can happen, and you get no do-overs. Boyang's grown on me a lot this season. It's a pity he gets mostly overlooked, I'm very much with you on him being a very serious podium contender for PC.
-
My thoughts exactly. The only thing that counts in competition is what you actually do on the ice, not what you could have done. Pointing out trends in how subjective scores are given (be it GOEs or PCs) is one thing, but if someone flubbed a 3F they flubbed a 3F. End of discussion. But whatever: people will be people and there's always going to be somebody trying to excuse their fave. It's the double standard that bugs me.

What if we replaced the overalls with just jeans? ...lumberjack Yuzu, anyone? Only if it comes attached with a beard. Between this and the manip, I just got whiplash. Stick to the sparkles and all will be well, Yuzu, please :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:

Poll - When/How did you become a fan of Yuzu?
Valkyria replied to PomeloPooh's topic in Yuzuru Hanyu
Oh that's for sure. I don't know anyone who was once a fan and then un-Hanyu'ed :ohno: I feel like you don't even have to BECOME a fan. If he catched your eye the first time you saw him, sooner or later you will end up deep in Yuzufeels. This is exactly my strategy when trying to convert my friends. They may not have fallen as deep in the hole as I have, but now they want updates and always ask me for videos when he competes - 249 replies

El muchacho estaba ON FIRE).

^^ That's the thing with Yuzu: did he fall? Was he just chillin' on the ice? We'll never know: he's too photogenic and it looks the same :rofl2:

Poll - When/How did you become a fan of Yuzu?
Valkyria replied to PomeloPooh's topic in Yuzuru Hanyu
In my case, I'd always liked skating, but casually. The "catches it on tv and leaves it on" kinda fan. Then I really got into it for the olympics at Vancouver, joined the old fandom @ LJ communities, the complete shebang. After that, most of my favs started r***ng (Lambiel, Weir), but... there was Javi. I was so happy to see someone from my country fighting his way through the sport, so he made me keep up with everything, keep on learning and getting to know the next generation of skaters. And the more I watched, the more aware I became of others, like the Japanese kid with the amazing 3A  Then Nice happened, I got suckerpunched by Romeo right in the feels and the rest is history :space:- 249 replies

EXACTO.

Um, nope, that's a 3A all right. All this talk of the mythical 4A is scrambling everybody's brains XDDDD

"To no one's surprise", indeed. It was a given XDDD -
They can certainly try, but I don't think it will go well for most of them :rofl2: (I don't really dislike the blue FTT. And the sleeves make his hand gestures look beautiful )

I see what you mean  The fabric's definitely a bit heavier and doesn't drape in the same way, but I think the gold cut-outs at the sides are what's contributing the most to changing the shape. It's never gonna fall in a straight line when it's got a triangle of different fabric and seams giving it more structure, hence the bunching. Case in point (you can really see it when he's not in motion): [image]http://imgur.com/VFl96Yu.jpg[/image]

Nice to see so many people on the Chopin 2.0 squad #REPRESENT  [image]http://imgur.com/NLGX5W8.jpg[/image] (He still looks like a prince on the ice no matter what he wears, tho) EDIT: image credit to [link=http://www.danielleearlphotography.com/]Danielle Earl Photography[/link]

Exactly. iirc there could be points deduction if parts of costume fall on the ice during competition. This is what always I think looking at closeups of Yuzu costumes. I am not completely sure but maybe the costume with most rhinestones is the Requiem one. Requiem is a masterpiece, wheter one likes it or not. It's so intricate and has so much detail And yes, you're gonna get dinged if you leave anything on the ice. So I'm actually quite curious about how they attach all the bling, since the end result has to be comfortable, resistant to sweat and washings, etc. I'm sure whatever method they use has them going one by one anyway (and that's a big job in his case XD)

Whoever it is... KUDOS  Not only are they abundant (lol), but I guess they have to be secure enough to not risk them falling everywhere on the ice, which could be dangerous.

...okay, am I the only one who prefers Chopin 2.0? XDDD Both are gorgeous, but I really dig the gold accents, the lighter blue and the gold belt (better contrast with the rest of the ensemble)
