  1. I am going to be in the camp who believe he will add 4Lz in SP. We shall see which prediction will eventually come true. The way I see it, he is already capable of landing a clean 4Lo// 3A 4T3T in his 3rd try of the current Chopin 3.0, in an ice show with smaller rink and (from what I heard) not-so-ideal ice. He will upgrade the jump and other elements. But, who really knows. He could totally go, 'you know what, actually, I am changing the 3A to 4A' (that's still following the rule for SP, right? Or is this the same as 'quad-triple combo is required, but quad-quad combo is not allowed'?). Then all of us
  2. Is the roller-coaster ride over yet? It is? It is. Ok. But, 25+ pages of morning news for 20+ seconds of Yuzu... Going back to watch the layout speculation now. And silently doing the math.
  3. Nope, I am with you on this. Still, I am praying that you are indeed a psychic. I remember one of the commentators said after his NHK (or was it GPF?) performance, that had he skated both Chopin 2.0 and Seimei in the Olympics, no one, not even non-FS fans, will ever forget it. Let that be true.
  4. No more Skate Canada! And I might be able to go to Rostelecom! Is Misha still competing after all? I'll go check in the other thread as well.
  5. (I don't know how to properly quote, but I hope it's clear enough) What I mean by the bolded part is that the conversation that sprung up after the newest tabloid cover, will at least confuse people who come to this general thread to see news of Yuzu. Some, like myself, will also be quite uncomfortable. I understand that this thread is a continuation of the fanfest thread back at GS (admittedly, I was not there long enough to fully understand the general atmosphere of it). What I also understand is that because this is usually among the first threads visited in this forum, measures have been taken to minimise the possibility of making people uncomfortable (hence, for instance, the invisible conversation no longer exists here). I do not mean to suggest that only useful chat should be welcome; what I do mean is that we do not post things that are sensitive and not generally accepted (and to an extent, when more users voice their opinion that a certain topic is making them uncomfortable, we then understand and stop doing it). And, going back to my assumption that this thread is among the firsts visited, what we post in here, imo, then determine how any user/lurker will take this forum in general. Thus, the 'credible reputation' part. I could totally be wrong, tho. As in all my assumptions might be totally off. In which case, it's best to ignore me and move on If there's any more comment on my posts about this topic, I will answer via pm, to avoid dragging this part. I hope that is ok.
  6. Over 5 pages (right?) talking about it, tho... I went with 'confused' (okay, 'hella confused') because 1) that's the first feeling I got, especially as someone who has not been around long enough to get/know how things usually went in here, and 2) to score the least of what those type of talks will do to people who lurk/read through this thread to see if there is any news of Yuzu worth noting. I could get more specific, but I know some of us could (and apparently did) get offended, so I did not. I will say though, with what little I know, I am not sure those types of talks are ok for a public forum; not if we want to build any credible reputation whatsoever. I know that it's all done in jest, but that's not how ALL of us will take it. When I read "General Yuzuru Chat", I would not expect to see talks about ships and children, however imaginary and 'done in jest' they may be, to be in it. "General" is quite different from "Random", isn't it?
  7. Checking in to see if there's news about Yuzu. Hella confused with everything.
  8. Ah, thank you for the answer. I guess a -lo-anyF combo is also out of question cz he seems to not like Flip jumps (although that is partly cz makes it more difficult to avoid doing a Lip).
  9. Is axel a possible 2nd jump in combination? As in, will it be considered a jump combination, or a jump sequence? I am still tripped about starting and landing edges - although I at least know that flip-lutz combination is only possible if a skater can rotate in both directions.
  10. So many talks about Kei Nishikori, so I had to google him - I don't want to read the marriage article. is my reaction. Not that his look has anything to do with his apparent achievements. Yuzu's sparkly costumes literally hurt my eyes (and give me headaches when I watch too much of his program - photophobia ), and he is what in my country will be called " klimis", towards which I am generally indifferent. But he is beautiful, and I don't think there is anything wrong with a man being beautiful. Or feminine, if you will. The fragility of the patriarchal-induced masculinity is why this can be something negative in the eyes of some people. And what does that have to do with the athleticism and artistry of a figure skater, anyway? I feel like the society's attitude towards FS in general is stuck in the dark ages.
  11. Re: not being able to do 2A because of his 3A, but he can do a beautiful 1A.
  12. I saw this, too, and loudly exclaim "huuuuuh?" I mean, "his quad thirst"? I will admit I don't follow men's skating as closely as some others in FS fandom, obviously. But, to say that Yuzu has a 'quad thirst' in comparison to others is just plain obtuse. And his dominance is not because he is the king of quads. His dominance is due to how rounded his skating is. Yes, it is including the QUALITY of his quads, but also all the other elements. FS becoming a jumping contest is definitely not his fault, when he always go to the pain of making sure he consistently perform beautiful, complicated programs in competitions. It's how the judges and ISU in general, are rewarding quads - underrotated, pre-rotated, landed shakily be damned - as if that's the only thing that matters. This is why confession type tumblr is one of my pet peeves. I wish they didn't tag Yuzu, so I don't have to see it. But then I'll se it in this forum anyway.
  13. Is there grabby hands emoticon? I want them all! Oh, I love all your emojis!
  14. this. Yes, make this in black, and he is ready for formal event. I remember watching the video where he did the same thing also in Finland. Look at the smile on the staff's faces. I am echoing others in saying I'm very relieved. I want one! But also, is that a new costume? Or is it the same one he wore for Ghana CM, just photoshopped?
  15. Wow! In tumblr, I tag this kind of amazingly beautiful arts as "#I wish I have just a fraction of that talent"
  16. Wow! Ok, even in English it sounds so poetic to me. Definitely a fanyu My favourites are Susana and Paloma from tdp. I think it was during GPF '15 SP, when Paloma didn't know what to say, and Susana went "Just keep clapping". They are just a joy to listen to(Makes me want to take up Spanish again)
  17. Nice save, space kitten, err, swan.
  18. Yuna Kim. She is the one who got me into watching FS in the first place. But Yuna, Mao, Caro... their generation, tho...
  19. :s_dunno I mean, how else do they expect non-Japanese fans to show our support, really? By waving our flags but put "BUT I AM SUPPORTING YUZURU HANYU" on it? :eh:
  20. Javier can have that one. You know, there's red and yellow on the Spanish flag. I am so sorry, I'm mean. But you know, depending on which artist they pick for the SP, if they go down the pop/rock road again, it could be any number of crazy things. I guess jazz is better in that regard. You know, the combination of seeing the red monstrosity and the talk about what music he might choose makes me dreading the announcement of the programs. I might have also jinks-ed all of us. *cringe sorry,,, ETA: Nvm, we know Yuzu probably will stay away from the colour red because of 2014 CoC. Which I will forever mourn, cz red costume like the one he wore for Ghana CM was dreamy.
  21. Skaters can't choose in strict sense. They ( = seeded skaters) can give a preference, but it's not mandatory for Big 6 (= the 6 federations hosting GPs) to uphold that preference. Federations have final say on picks, so while they may accomodate a skater's wish, they are not obliged to do so. Ah, thanks for the clarification. So, it's more like some sort of negotiation then? Skaters state their preferences, then federations state theirs, and then negotiate from there?
  22. What I get from this, is this: Undoubtedly influenced Yuzu's LGC costume to some degree. :rofl2: Yep, that's Orser. Just, dear God, do not let Yuzu get his next inspiration from this.
  23. Thanks for the information! I understand the mechanism of how to get into GP Final, but the GP circuit itself is a bit confusing to me. I thought they got assigned but apparently, skaters can choose. Now I understand all the talk about Yuzu not choosing CoC but would do SC, and probably not any of the europeans. I thought they don't have any choice. Thanks again!
  24. I am having a problem with topic subscription, as in I never subscribe to any topic, but I notice that if I posted more than 3 times in a topic, I am automatically subscribed to that topic. Is that the default setting? How do I change it? Thank you!
  25. you can find the video tittled (2015 World Championships Gala Highlights Produced by Misha Ge) at the 1:33 mark Thank you! Found the video. Oh, the shenanigans! :rofl2:
