  1. I guess it will depend on how much can she do. I don’t know how long her reach is, but I hope it’s long enough.
  2. Oh sh*t, Rachael Denhollander is talking about Tutberidze? Do I need popcorn for this?
  3. For free skate, women's are multiplied by the factor of 1.60, while men by 2.00. So the max total for women would be 1.6x(10x5)=80, while men would ofc be 100. In SP, it's 0.80 for women and 1.00 for men. Max total for women is 40, and 50 for men. You can actually see this written in the protocols. The factors are also applied to PCS in Pairs and ID. As to why, the idea was to balance PCS and TES - this was done back when women were not doing quads.
  4. Good thread, @Henni147 probably fits general skating chat more, but I’m on mobile, please excuse, thanks!
  5. Hmm… I guess his attempt at it in 2018 Rostelecom Cup, a grand prix event mind you, didn’t count, because, hmm… it doesn’t fit whatever narrative they’re going on with here? Or because he was skating for Russia then? Selective severe amnesia? Make it makes sense, please. I can’t with this.
  6. this one is genetic. I have Japanese friends, and they don't do much for their hair to be like that. The most they can say is that they don't wash it often.
  7. …. Yuzuru has been jumping ‘only’ 4S and 4T in SP bcz it’s the safest bet to have clean SPs, while keeping his brand of skating. His most technically advanced version of SPs was LGC with 4Lo//4S3T 3A. None of his outing with LGC cracked 110. The thing is, he could easily go back to this layout, but he would need to sacrifice many of his intricate skating in-between elements to prepare for the jumps. We all know Zu would rather die than do 6 crossovers to get into a jump - dude barely did 6 crossovers for the entire SP! Idk, for me, this unshakeable determination to deliver complex, detailed, thoughtful programs, that do justice not only to his training, his coaches, his choreographers, his audience, but also to the sport itself, is quintessentially why I worship the ground Yuzuru walks on,,, or rather, the ice Yuzuru skates on. It’s why he is the true north of figure skating for me, results and scoring me damned. ETA: I said that, but if you’ve seen me around long enough, you’d know I’d be among the first to bitch about the scoring. Lol! Of course the unfair scoring is frustrating af, but the solution to that is really not for Yuzu to become another jumping machine. It’s also not to ask him to perform a higher miracle than he already does on regular basis (i.e., upgrade tech content *while* keeping his packed transitions).
  8. ..... can we perhaps not present speculations about Yuzu's mental health/state as a certain thing? The thing is, no one, no body, none knows much about Yuzu's daily personal life, as it is fiercely protected, and fiercely protected on purpose. Sure, he might have hinted on metal struggles and blocks after PC, but let's take him at his words and not put words in his mouth, shall we? We can debate (read: curse and moan and what-have-you) about ISU shenanigans without dragging Yuzu around and putting our interpretations of his words (especially because we rely heavily on translators who themselves interpret his words - so, this is already interpretation upon interpretation) as a sure thing. Regardless of whether the skaters, including Zu, get mentally affected by the unfair scoring, unfair scoring is still wrong. We can be outraged of it for itself.
  9. I think it’s the general supporting anyone on weibo. C-ent has been even more of a mess lately. They have gotten rid of many, and I mean *many*, fans-organised, well, anything online.
  10. ===== Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ===== 2022,
  11. Me, too. The tributes, however, highlight the fact that Zu is not only on par with his idols, but he has way surpassed them. And yep, LMEY, Tenchi, Rondo, they all feel like him, programs only he can deliver.
  12. Has there been a side-by-side comparison of Techi with 4Lo vs with 4A? Can anyone link me, please? Thanks!!
  13. This. How do you jump such beautiful quads and have them not be the highlights of your program? You have to be Yuzuru Hanyu to do it. It is indeed uniquely him.
  14. Ah, hello ‘Zuzu pulled what amount to a miracle, then proceeded to admit all the scary health-related details afterwards’, my old friend. I don’t miss thee, but thou art familiar. my turn to pray for his protection now, I guess my boy,,, the absolute mixbag of emotions of stanning you… wouldn’t have it any other way, but let me sigh, yeah?
  15. Me too, actually. But for him to be credited and the successful 4A be ratified, he needs to land it in international comps (someone corrects me if I’m wrong). So, maybe 4CC, but no Oly? Sigh. I doubt the honourable Hanyu will do it tho.
  16. This is indeed interesting because Uchimura is saying Yuzu might need to rotate his upper body first to force his lower body to follow. I've heard many FS coaches saying the tendency to prerotate the upper body has often been the reason skaters fell on their jump. I mean, it might be that the nature of 4A itself would require a different calculation compared to how other jumps are done, so it might be true. Kohei claiming 'humans can't do it, but Hanyu-kun could', tho... He gets it
  17. ....... this is probably the first time ever I won a giveaway, OMG, thank you so much!!!! I just need to wait to be contacted, right? Thanks again!
  18. I am late,,irl sucks. but hey, Happy Birthday, dear Zuzu! May all your wishes come true! ___________ also, it’s his bday, but I’m the one with presents hehehe Thank you, @yuzuangel You’re an angel, indeed.
  19. Yep, saw the protocols... when will I learn never to do that? They tried, didn't they? Anyway, hope Shimada stays healthy and keeps developing her technique pass puberty. All fingers crossed.
  20. She is still a Novice, isn’t she?? And wow, against JSF’s anointed girl.
  21. Sending all my meagre positive energy Zuzu’s way, and
