Seriously. It would be so poetic, if Yuzu started his "figure skating career reset" at Sectionals. From absolute zero back to the top. Again.
-
Gosh, I want to see that. Yuzu skipping the Challenger Series and going to Japanese Sectionals. Standing with some absolute newbies on the podium, who have the time of their life.
-
Imagine Yuzu winning sectionals or regionals by +100 pts... EDIT: Imagine a completely sold out sectionals competition and ticket bloodbath...
-
If that happens. OBERSTDORF, I'm coming!
-
And now let's count all the men on this list who support Yuzu

Thank you so much for the link! This is exactly what I need to be optimistic and calm again Yuzu has achieved so many nearly impossible things in his career, but this season he has done something absolutely impossible:
-
I don't know anything, but this pic gives me very strong family vibes right now: Thank you, Javier Raya! EDIT: I think it's the first time that we finally have everyone in one pic?

I think the algorithm of this webside works something like this:

I would have bet my next salary that he doesn't want to drop his beloved 4T+3A+SEQ Fingers crossed that he sticks to this layout.

Okay, so to prevent the general chat from complete Harry Pottering, I've started this new thread here
-
Very OT now, but Dumbledore's patronus was a phoenix, aye? I think Yuzu's would be a swan despite his faible for cats and it would be really majestic I think. #Footnote: Would it make sense to open a seperate skating/HP-crossover thread and collect all these creative ideas over there?
-
And mama Yuzu is an angel just like Lily, aye? Agree about the gold. How could I forget?! And lions are big cats... ... and yup. "Brian"! That's brilliant. Plus: We have seen Med dressed up as Hermione already. They're all in the same house now

Is that possible...?! Yuzuru Hanyu possessing all three Deathly Hallows?! Invisibility cloak? Check. Nobody in the world can hide better from public than him. Resurrection stone? Check. Nobody can do more spectacular and eagerly awaited comebacks. Elder wand? Check. Nobody can cast such strong spells that people go mad before the real magic has even started. [Latest update 17.03.2019, 20:17 CET]: I knew there are many similarities between Yuzuru Hanyu and Harry Potter:

Maybe he's hiding in our PH spoiler box...?

Same thought

It would be really interesting to see Marton composing a soundtrack extra for Yuzu. It doesn't have to be a competitive program. A live music EX would probably be the most exciting to watch

I tested Google translate (Japanese ---> German) with Yuzu's latest blog entry just for fun and this is what I got I think, KOSÉ would be desperate about the part with the wrinkles

A man looks really happy in this pic. Finally!! (Good job, Gabby ) ... but where is Jun hiding?

As much as I loved this moment in Helsinki... I really hope that Pooh-san will be saved from more whiplashes next week

Next blog entry: Hanyu-sama reveals who that lucky someone is that received a chocolate from him on White Day Serious question: Does Yuzu really plan to record a message every day from now on? Even if it's only 10 seconds... That's quite ambitious, especially during competitions. 5058 messages have been posted by fans within three days. That's a lot! I doubt that he has the time to read every single post... However, it's a nice alternative to the classical social media accounts and we get something from him during the long breaks between competitions.

Yep. One flat camera perspective is just not enough to judge this properly imo. Yuzu's second 3A at the very end looked totally okay to me in my screen recording, but visibly underrotated in the ISU slomo review... so what?... *brain smokes* If the rotation is such an important quality feature of a jump, ISU really has to invest in a precise measurement tool to prevent the sport from another UR madness as 4CC 2019. That was terrible to watch... and it will get worse the more skaters join the game of quads. I doubt that anything will happen, though.

I fed the full Helsinki FS into my video editor with 30 fps, slowed down the speed to 25% and switched back and forth between the freeze frames a dozen times. I looked where the toe pick entered the ice first, not the full blade. The biggest problem is the flat camera angle, it warps the entry and exit curves really much, so you can only have a rough guess of the true landing angle. I would say that 30°-steps are the absolute maximum that you can "see" without special measurement tools. Here's a live screen record of my editor and my personal observations: I pray that he won't give the judges any oppurtunity for a call next week and skate at his best #Footnote: my favorite animals are the giant tortoises from Aldabra and Galapagos Islands. Always chilled, protected by a huge shell, intelligent and blessed with a long life of +150 years. My soulmates.

Yep, I experienced that, too: There's one song that changed my view of life a couple of years ago. Today I can hear a bit of Yuzu within these lines, too: Why did we make it so hard? This life is so complicated Until we see it Through the eyes of a child.

Genetics, healthy lifestyle and... just feeling young. I mean, babies have the purest skin in the world, aye? If you feel like a playful kid on the inside, it turns to your outside as well and makes you look much younger than your passport actually says... Sure, Yuzu has grown and matured a lot in many ways, but there are still these lovely moments, where I can see a happy little baby dorking around, singing out loud and loving Pooh bears. His smile and grin haven't changed at all over the decades I'm looking forward to a happy and energic Yuzu the most next week. I hope that he can enjoy his return to home soil after such a long time

I've rewatched Yuzu's last competition in Moscow from a new perspective. These two fancams are so amazing (perhaps you know them already): I love them so much, because you can see the entire warm-up, performance, Pooh-rain, hugs and K&C moments from one perspective. In the official broadcasts with multiple camera angles you cannot really judge the huge ice coverage and speed that he actually has. I've never seen him live yet, but these clips gave me a rough idea. His aura and presence are so amazing. With every new day I get more and more nervous about Worlds... but when I hear, how many young skaters love him, look up to him and believe in him, it calms me down and makes me happy Tomoki, Gogo, Roman, Daniel, Plushy Jr, little Voronov, the flower girls... now even Vincent said that Yuzu is "on a different level from the rest of us"... this is so encouraging and satisfying.
