  1. I'm going to preface my comments by saying that I quite like Daisuke and I think he's a sweetheart, and I still wonder why Nathan, Jason, Vincent, Camden, and Tomoki, not to mention a few others, aren't enough for USFed, that they go looking to bring someone back from retirement? However, it will be interesting to see what Dice can bring to the table now, and I'm all for people challenging themselves.
  2. For me it's 4CC all the way. He owned that performance easy as breathing. PC Chopin certainly has a special place in my heart because it was like the sun coming out after a blizzard, but in terms of which one was the better, more perfect Yuzu performance, it's 4CC. You know how he sounds in media when he introduces himself and says his own name? That's what 4CC Chopin was like. At least, in my eyes, anyway.
  3. Oh kill me now! Fiery passionate baby Yuzu vs. powerful yet controlled high finesse grown-up Yuzu...help I can't choose!
  4. I wonder why. Honestly, I think the sport has evolved beyond what he's able to do. Unless he's trying another discipline?
  5. It's simpler than that - when other kids were learning to swim, he was practicing skating. I forget which interview it was where he said that, but it's out there.
  6. 2, 4, and 6. I'm guessing #4 is supposed to be the LGC/Origin hair, but it's not really a great pic of it.
  7. Really? I thought that was something he decided on impulsively, day of the competition. It had such YOLO energy I figured it couldn't be anything else.
  8. These arm positions are why I love Origin Ina Bauer the most. Like, I just want to hug it, as silly as that sounds.
  9. @yuzuangel The pistol pose is a good one! Also, how about the LGC slide?
  10. I wasn't thinking about it, until you brought it up! Now....
  11. Okay, I understand a bit better what you were saying. Yes, he does need a core layout with potential variations, but not to be all over the place. Tbh, I think the problem with Origin was that Yuzu had a grand vision that he actually wasn't able to pin down. That being said, if he feels like going for another layout like the one at GPF 2019, only sensibly paced so that he doesn't run out of steam, I'd be all for it.
  12. Also, having multiple layouts is part of his strategy for dealing with unexpected things like bad ice conditions or a problem on a jump early in the program and so on. Part of why Yuzu wins so much is because he's a magician at disaster recovery - think of all the times he YOLO'd jumps into his programs to save his score when he had issues early on. The reason he's able to do that is because he practices different layouts. So I doubt we'll ever see him bring a program where he only uses one definitive layout the whole season long. Yes, exactly.
  13. He's always under pressure so what difference does it make? Anyway, a lighter program doesn't necessarily have to be 'fun' - it could be something cool and stylish and modern, instead - something like Stephane's 'Please Don't Stop the Music' , only competition-ready, for example.
  14. Go for broke, like he always does. Honestly it's tough to think about because there's no predicting what the season's going to look like in terms of competitions and so forth. But putting his all into it has worked so far. Beyond that, a clean 5 quad layout that he can actually complete without dying of exhaustion would be ideal. And I think he could use a change of mood in music, maybe go for something with a lighter touch. Maybe break away from the classical instrumentals.
  15. Yes. It's really obvious in the earlier encores, where Yuzu is wearing rock-n-roll teen gear and doing his classical performances ( Etude in Vertigo threw me for a real loop.) For some reason it works better the other way 'round, when he's doing the rock programs in the fluttery flowy costumes. That's why Crazy Swan is so good. Such a thing would kill many many fanyus.
  16. I know Makes your heart go thumpity-thump, doesn't it?
  17. I wanna change my vote - Otonal in Seimei is really something else. You get to see how much he loves that step sequence - just throws himself into it with such joy.
  18. That's actually a pretty gorgeous axel in itself...love how Yuzu inspires other people to excellence everywhere
  19. And no doubt his streamlining would be AMAZING! But I think he's said in an interview that he can't swim...
  20. This made me laugh an unreasonable amount...love it! Although I suspect that if Yuzu went to the Summer Olympics as a competitor, his sport would be baseball. Boy loves to pitch, as poor Mr. Koala can attest
  21. Unless you're like Keegan and live in a place that's cold enough to have an outdoor rink well into the spring, your chances of having ice time are pretty small these days. Japan doesn't seem to have closed rinks yet, but I'm thinking that if they can't make the switch to roller blades for now, most skaters will be SOL for a long time.
  22. I'll be at work, but I will stop by every now and again for the fun
  23. 1. Any encore with LGC 2. Crazy Swan & Ghana LGC 3. Would love to see Origin 2.0 Walkways or Origin 2.0 Masquerade Come to think if it, Origin 2.0 is practically made for Masquerade. Just imagine how dramatic it would look! I have to admit I really love Yuzu's dark drama costumes the most. They're all beautiful but when he brings the drama, my heart goes 'thump-thump!'
