  1. I hope she makes a full recovery. So many reports are coming out now of people who take months to get better...at least she's able to skate. Hindsight is 20-20 and she may not have had the option, but I wonder if she would have been better off staying in Toronto...:(
  2. considering there's at least one in Antarctica that I know of, I wouldn't be surprised.
  3. Thanks so much for sharing these! I hope you win the lotto with your Yuzu luck :).
  4. If there are fanyus in Tahiti, hats off to them!
  5. Not sure where to post this but David Wilson gave an interview to That Figure Skating Show. He talks about Yuna and Yuzu:
  6. Isn't that just proof of the man's greatness? Not every hero inspires people to be happy and eat cake. Speaking of, I had a slice of fruitcake in his honour just now - the first fruitcake of the Christmas season, for me.
  7. "He will create the performances which will light up the world brightly." This is my favorite thing I've seen anyone say about Yuzu, to date. Love it.
  8. If Yuzu sees that, how much do you wanna bet he'll try doing it in real life?
  9. I had to work today, so missed the streaming party, but I'm loving all the fanart that people are posting! Happy Birthday, Yuzu, and here's my own contribution to the general festivites: my blurry opening shot of PW at the gala at SCI '19: (You won Skate Canada! You won Skate Canada! That was such a great thing to witness) You made my week that day, I hope we satellites can add to your joy today.
  10. Oh my goodness, talk about a rollercoaster of emotions. That must have been so painful. Following Yuzu sure gives your nerves a workout.
  11. Funny thing about PChan...I didn't really care about him either until he had that disastrous pre-Olympic autumn season in 2017. Then I had sympathy for him because he sounded so depressed. But his skating never drew me in until I saw him live.
  12. Found this: https://danceinternational.org/rebels-ice-insiders-view-le-patin-libre-new-ensemble/ I wonder if Yuzu would ever consider participating in such a project. I have a feeling it would appeal to his experimental side.
  13. Well this is different: https://danceinternational.org/rebels-ice-insiders-view-le-patin-libre-new-ensemble/
  14. New requirement in the choreo sequence? no ear wiggling = 0 GOE? Yuzu ear wiggles = +5 GOE? (I kid, I kid. Just in case anyone thinks I mean it seriously - no, of course not. . . .
  15. sports.ru is reporting that 16 (or is it 19?) Russian national team members haven't made the criteria for the Russian championship due to missing 2 or more Cup of Russia stages with either COVID or injuries or 'pneumonia' ....I have no words....
  16. Although I noticed Yuzu at those Olympics, my own true BH/AH date was Oct 28, 2016, the day LGC was first unleashed on the unsuspecting TV audience and I happened to see it at home, was struck between the eyes by the fact that Yuzu seemed to literally be channeling Prince, and I became insatiable for Yuzu after that. I only wish it had been sooner!
  17. Yes yes, I know that. But I'm actually trying to give Aljona's words serious consideration, like if he really wanted to try and compete in pairs right now
  18. I think they'd have a hard time finding a partner the right size for him. I know Japanese ladies can be small, but still...
  19. So if there's Worlds this year but Canada (or any other country) doesn't go, then what?
  20. They'd get many more times the revenue, if they did, because there's no limit to the size of an audience for a livestream
  21. I might be wrong about this, but isn't there a cut-off score you have to be above in order to make the Olympics? They don't let just anybody compete. No Jamaican bobsled team-style stories in figure skating! And you have to achieve the cut-off scores at an internationally ratified competition like a GP, not Nationals. So if no one from Canada can compete for the whole year until next GP season, that limits all their chances to get the cut-off score.
  22. Unlikely. I think that when it comes to skating he always prioritizes exactly what he should do, and public opinion/pressure to conform is simply not on that list. Ugh. The news about Canada potentially not competing at Worlds is a major hit, not going to lie, because it really does crack open the possibility of no Canadians at Beijing either.
  23. Although what they're saying here is that it would end up being due to lack of opportunities to prepare, not directly out of fear of COVID. **** In other news, I'm watching Battle of the Blades, and Scott Moir just admitted that during his career, there were a few judges he'd wanted to call out for their scoring...😆 ...and Asher Hill just made me cry...WAH
