  1. Maybe its just me, but I always feel Shoma looks a bit better in TV record, his two footed skating aka too many crossover only bother me when I watch fancam. Meanwhile Yuzuru is opposite. His speed, flow and even the jumps are much more impressive in fancam. I really hope I can watch both of them live :D

I second this. TV makes Shoma's skating look way better it looks on rink (this season I happened to see him twice, at CoR and 4CC). It must be because of camerawork, it's harder to understand pattern of the program, multidimensional skating and such on TV, cause they switch cameras.

Yuzuru's skating looks impressive even with lousy camerawork (like Worlds 2017 lol), and it's astounding live. He is in the league of his own.

One of the moments of 4CC practices that I remember very clear is how Shoma did his 4F and seconds later Yuzu did 3F at almost same place. I swear, that 3F was bigger than 4F.

  3. Is there a way to see all the unread posts in one place? Like the activity stream on you know where?

It's on the main page: View unanswered posts • View unread posts • View new posts • View active topics

  4. I don't actually know the name of this program (though I know it's a rather regular one) so if someone could enlighten me, I'll gladly edit the name of the thread.

It's Houdou Station aired 2011/11/07. There is related post in blog on Matsuoka's official site (pic included): http://www.shuzo.co.jp/blog/2011/11/column_304.html

I really love this interview, watched it several times. So great to see it translated!

  5. I think Boyang has said in an interview that he might keep his Spiderman program - but I'd have to find the source again to be 100% sure. He thinks very much that it is his signature program right now too

I think I also remember that I read somewhere that he actually wants to keep both programs? Can't recall where I saw that, though

I thought skaters are only allowed to keep one program each season, or the rule had changed as well?

There is no such rule about keeping programs, I mean ISU rule.

Do you remember Boyang in 2015-16 season? He skated both programs from previuos season.

  6. He usually does around 20 shows each summer, except 2011 and 2014 when he did 50-60 shows  If he confirm all Faoi and Doi, there're 12 shows, I think its ok. Maybe I have use to see other skaters do way more shows than him :D

Did he really do that many in 2015, too? Well, we do know he's crazy, so...

    19 shows in 2015

  7. Tokyo dome is an outdoor venue right?

I think something like an ice show that is yuzucentric in Super Saitama Arena would have already been quite a HUGE treat. Heard the capacity is 37.000 for concert, maybe for ice shows it could reach 25-30K audience? :D

Tokyo Dome is indoors. I think at some point it was the largest indoors venue in Japan, but now there are more Domes. Stadiums are outdoors, usually. But I meant it more as a joke anyway lol Unless in a good seat at Tokyo Dome it'd probably look much like watching on TV anyway... it'd just be awesome reputation-wise XD

Oh and I've never been to Tokyo Dome either, so I can't speak from experience. ^_^; Largest place I attended a concert in in Japan was Makuhari Messe and that was a festival, so... Plus, they did have ice shows at Makuhari Messe, I think (I'm just not sure in which of the halls).

I've been to TD and it's HUGE! Prestigeous but not the best place to watch something live if you got 3rd floor tixs. And even 1st floor XD

Also the shape is more square than rectangle, it'd be weird after usual 1:2 rinks. I'd prefer Saitama Super Arena.
