Of course it is. I just hope the girls affected, and then some more, can get minimums at Euros or senior B events before deadline. Especially three girls who were only ones from their countries before, Grm, Sauter and Matos.

I'm pretty sad about this, I love when a lot of skaters from smaller Feds get the opportunity to perform at Worlds... but sadly it is too inconvenient to have long competitions, why give them a chance... terrible. Also, decision like that should be made before the season starts, if they really wanted it. At least it would allow skaters to plan, maybe take part in more competitions, if they want to get TES. Doing it now is just unfair to the skaters. They still have plenty competitions to do it, but still.

Yuzu is going if he's healthy (pleaseplease). US team will be announced after Nationals, it's unlikely Nathan will come there because of his school schedule, not to mention it's the other half of the world, but we won't know until then.

I know it's always personal taste, but it's hard to me to imagine to not fall in love with Yuzu's skating after seeing H&L at Worlds. It's true what many said that this program only worked when everything was perfect, and through that season I was also missing Seimei at times, but Worlds 2017 is a masterpiece that touched me like no program before, including NHK and GPF Seimei and young Romeo that were of course pure awesomness too (the second time happened later in Olympics free skate but that were different emotions).

I just read Nikolaj Sorensen had a knee surgery and he will miss Nationals along with his partner I'm hoping if he's fit enough they will be appointed to Worlds (4CC seems out of the question), otherwise it looks grim for Canadian ID spots... (and also, I want to see their RD again...)

I don't think Yuzu will be the final person who ignites Olympic cauldron, but I'd say it's 95% he will be at opening ceremony. He is just to big to not be there. But also I think (hope) he will do most of FaOI, if not all stops.

He confirmed he asked for 4CC assigment, he wants the title and additional comp before Worlds. That's very good sign that there's no injury and he has enough time to recover until then.

He also said that he want to compete more with Nathan and others, that he will go to Beijing if he feels he could win(*he may indeed feel he can't if he's clean and lose against Nathan, but it's quite a while to Beijing still, million things happen in the middle of Olympic cycle), that he wants to do all the quads in competition etc. He says different things, fans exaggerate anything he says these days. My opinion is he himself doesn't know yet, that is what all he's been saying suggest. And as I said 'candle burn the brightest...' quote is very nerdy of Yuzu, lol. And does anyone doubt he will go out with a bang when it's time?

I was asking specifically about why talking about maybe going to 4CC makes this more probable, because I don't see this logic. He probably wants to have this win before the ends of his career, but that doesn't mean it has to be the last season of his career. And he didn't go when he wasn't fully healthy, which is, sadly, most of his senior career... Talking about burning candle says to me nothing more than Yuzu is a nerd, honestly, but ofc retiring can happen, I just wouldn't take every single word he says as a 'hint' about that. He says million things that contradict each other about this, anyway.

What recently said suggest retiring after Worlds? I mean, that could happen for different reasons, but why being open to go to 4CC makes it more possible? One has nothing to do with other imo.

She can't catch up technically, yes...(even 3lz in SP didn't work for her, as we know... even backloading the combo...), but if she's clean at Nats she is gonna get a big boost. Liza has much lower chances of going clean especially if she tries 4T, but that may be her only chance. Still, for them making the team Eteri girls have to bomb.

If anybody other than Eteri trio can get to the team, Zhenya (if clean) have bigger chances than Liza... but at least one of them has to make multiple mistakes for that and even then only 1-2 guarantee the spot, third spot is decided by the council after all... I can't imagine them leaving out Sasha or Kosto tbh, and Anna is national champion, really if she doesn't bomb it's also no way someone else goes, if their priority for this season is podium sweep.

I think 'taking a break' in Russian ladies skating may in fact mean 'retire'... I hope she comes back, for herself, she is only 17, for gods sake... But can she come back to train with Eteri after that? Doubtful.

As far as I know, Gala tickets are always sold separately, no matter if it's the same day as a competition (btw, I think it's horrible schedule...) No one knows at this point if Yuzu will be there or not, they can only hope. World standings - doesn't make much sense, the points he could get there won't stay after Worlds anyway, and I really don't see how it matters if he is 1 or 2 at WS list.

well he does floop, as his flips don't really have clear toe assistance, but I can't even imagine what he's 4Lze would look like, uhh. 4F is definitely very tricky for Yuzu but of course he can do a perfect one, if he devotes time to it, it's Yuzuru Hanyu. But as he said, 4A first.
