  1. True true. I mean this is Yuzu we're talking about, I really shouldn't be surprised. I guess this now means I can look forward to the possibility of him becoming not only the first person to land the 4A, but also the first person to land all 6 quads in competition
  2. I can't get over the fact that Yuzu has actually been attempting the 4F! I wanna slap myself for not taking him seriously when he told us that he would three months ago after Worlds Such a "never underestimate Mr Hanyu" moment (not that I didn't think he could do it, just coz he really doesn't need it ESPECIALLY when he's already planning to bring in the 4A )
  3. @Elle Omgsh yes!☝️ I follow this designer on insta and I absolutely love her creations, especially that costume! And yes Yuzu would look beautiful in it It did not occur to me at first but Yuzu definitely could (and most definitely has) take inspiration from female costumes. I personally want a very FIERCE and DARK program from him next season so I would love to see him wear black and red/burgundy, especially since we haven't seen him wear those colours in competition since that beautiful POTO costume from 2014 that was only worn once... These are also costumes by Ito Satomi. I'm kind of picturing Yuzu wearing something that's like a combination of the two. Particularly the back design of the second photo, as now we know that he can totally pull off a low cut back (from Notte Stellata)
  4. Yuzu on his tiptoes to look tall as the 193cm giant Ohtani... this was cuteness overload so just had to make it into a GIF Info: Ohtani Shouhei is a famous Major League Baseball player also 23 years of age.
  5. Can I just express my appreciation for Kazuki Tomono's performance at Worlds last night?? He was such a star ⭐️ I watched his skate for the first time and I was completely captivated by him. To enter the comp as a substitute for Hanyu and to pull a performance like that AND come 5th! (3rd for the FS alone) I'm looking forward to seeing more of him next season
  6. I've tried to convert my: - Mum - Friends - Boyfriend Looking at everyone else's comments I assume the success rate with Mums is the highest haha. I have also managed to semi-convert my mum. She has always acknowledged his skills ever since finding out about him, but it was only during this Olympic season that she actually started cheering on for him n stuff. We watched his FP live together and she was super happy when he won. She even says she wants a son just like him LOL. My friends however....not much success. They are well aware that I am a Yuzu fan and points it out to me whenever my phone lock screen is of him. I often talk about him to them but they only interested in Japanese idols and Kpop stars (not that there is anything wrong with those fandoms). And finally my BF...I think he does acknowledge him as a talented figure skater as he has mentioned how impressive Yuzu is during Sochi considering his age back then, but he has the tendency to become salty about everything I obsess over so no he is not a fan and will most likely never will be
  7. Oh wow...I only joined this site today and I would have never expected someone to have shared my video here O_O Thank you so much @fireovertheice for this! xD
  8. Hello~ I'm super new here but here goes my first response to a thread xD I think I became his fan the instant I first saw him on TV LOL. It happened during the 13-14 Olympic Season. I have access to Japanese tv so I saw him everywhere on the news at the time, being labelled as the "Young hope for Japan", "Ultimate Olympic gold medal contender" and what not. There was some serious hype around him and since I’m a sucker for anyone who looks like a real-life anime character I decided to look up photos and videos of his past programs. I had never been a fan of any particular male skaters (or let alone any skaters) back then and I was no skating expert, but I was instantly convinced that Yuzu had something no other male skaters I knew had. I had never seen someone with such an angelic yet strong presence, and so aesthetically pleasing to watch. I also loved the fact that he was a totally different person off the ice lol (playful and giggly). "This guy is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!! how did I not know who he was until now!? " <- was literally my reaction at the time. He pretty much ticked all the boxes for everything I always wanted in a male figure skater. And there you go, before I knew it I was cheering on for him during Sochi and have been a fan since I've come to really love Yuzu as a person too. He has gained so much wealth, popularity and honor as the No.1 skater in the world, yet he never forgets to be respectful towards everyone and show gratitude. He has continued to support Sendai through his skating and has always had that as part of his motive to keep aiming higher. I'd also like to add that I always liked watching figure skating even before Yuzu. It was always one of my favourite sports to watch during the Olympics. But I only loosely followed it. I never really paid attention to a particular athlete expect for Asada Mao to only some degree. Yuzu was the reason I started taking the initiative to learn more about the technical elements, the major competitions and history of figure skating. And I’ll be honest I would still call myself a Yuzuru fan than an ice skating fan, but because of him I have a lot more respect and love for the sport itself now
