Oh, why am I not surprised that TCC has a spa? Canadian ice wine is delicious, although Brian lives in Toronto so I'm sure he has tasted his share, but there's no harm in more wine, right? As for the spa giftcard, the reason I thought of that was when I tried to think of things that Team TCC needs, the first thing that popped into my head was something relaxing . But instead of a spa, hm who knows, a voucher for a hotel getaway? Something they can use on vacation? XD

I think we should really do this ^_^ because the way that TCC treated and protected Yuzu this season was really above and beyond, and the results showed. Brian, Tracey, Ghislain, and the rest of TCC staff really put their heart and soul into their skaters' health, happiness, and success, not just for medals. I think we should do something simple: - Ice wine? - Spa gift cards for spas in Toronto? We can use Yelp, or if anyone lives in Toronto can make some recommendations ^_^ - A thank you banner, not a huge one, but something simple that can be hung up in an office? Maybe with messages from lots of Yuzu fans?

Thank you for this perspective! I had no idea he was doing this professionally. I hope he is successful in his career whether that's impersonating Yuzu or not (but to be fair he doesn't look much like Yuzu so maybe he can try something else...)

Yeah I don't think Eteri didn't know, and I think she was lying (at least a bit) on TV. But I can understand if Zhenya didn't tell her directly, or told her only after the plans were made, which she may have felt was very disrespectful. But it was for good reason, as we can probably surmise.

Honestly I think there's nothing she can do to explain her situation. Any explaining would be nitpicked by people who want to judge her and sometimes there's literally no way to make people understand if they were not there. To be fair I wouldn't be surprised if Zhenya did not let Eteri know she was leaving. Eteri seems spiteful and with her influence could do anything in her power to stop Zhenya from leaving so it was best for Zhenya to keep her out of the loop as much as possible. Zhenya probably observed this with Eteri's other students who came and left before her. How do you begin to explain this type of dynamic to an outsider? You can't, so you just don't. Maybe Eteri was right to feel slighted but probably only because she is not bothering to understand Zhenya's point of view right now.

slaloms are hard; can you do swizzles? they are easier but ultimately the rhythm is the same if you want to practice those first. but, to answer your question, the momentum/speed comes from your knees mostly. so while you are on the leftmost or rightmost part of the slalom you should be on bent knees and rise up as you come back to center and down again fast as you enter your next slalom. the deeper your knee bend the more push you get which translates to speed. it also means your slaloms will curve more deeply. i think if you try bending and rising up on your knees while rhythmically while doing slaloms you'll get the feeling eventually!
