SO well put. I love this - so many people would be afraid of 'tainting' the legacy of that program with a new attempt to beat it but he's going for it and I hope with all my being that he succeeds

I know....... we can only hope political tensions aren't too strong at that point. That being said, he has a pretty strong fanbase in Korea judging by 4CC and the judges are going to be international so it should be okay (and I guess because it's not war music or really nationalistic music, it's not so egregious)

yuzu is the most ecologically friendly skater of them all

I've been calling it for months and worried because of the media narrative against him about playing it safe (it really was the safest strategy he could have gone with re: actual skating this season even though it was a RISKY AF PR/media move -- both pieces are uniquely his and are striking excellent programs in themselves; if he hadn't already done this EXACT combo I would have thought him crazy not to use it as Olympics music). Can only hope the layout upgrade and changes to choreo are enough to hold off the repeat accusations and he'll be confident enough in the program to blow the critics out of the water

Both are his power songs for sure, and songs ONLY Yuzu can skate to, so I'm more or less able to come to terms with the choice (even though 100000% not surprised)

No, I think there's a fair chance of that. From a news producer's POV, rehashing yuzu's SP is not newsworthy so they clearly thought they'd get FS footage in time for morning broadcast and announced it but I'm assuming yuzu didn't practice FS at 2PM. If he practices FS now and their new goal is to make the afternoon news slot, we may get everything at once (SP, FS and post-practice interview footage). IF he practices FS today and not tomorrow.... or at all...............

That's what I mean. Surely people actually there watching the practice at TCC (or the news programs) will reveal the music at least so the big question is if he will practise his FS at all and when. His 2nd practice will finish at 6PM aka. 7AM JP time so maaybe they'll release the news then when they actually have news/footage to show, assuming he'll practise his FS in the 2nd practice session.

I don't mind if it's not shown in its entirety but will they at least reveal the music? That's honestly all I care about

tbh I thought his first practice would be SP at 2PM and then FS at 5PM since it didn't make sense for him to do both in only 1hr. So if he finishes his FS, maybe we'll get news later in the morning. Unless he's planning to delay FS until tomorrow........ (I'm laughing and crying at the fact everyone's bonding through being a collective troll victim)

4Lz would definitely be a good strategic move in terms of sustaining the momentum in Yuzu's favour but I think he may be more focused on going clean the whole way through and winning everything. I wonder if he might do a Nathan/Shoma and make changes to his layout halfway through the season (especially eg. if the tide begins shifting in someone else's favour due to GP results)...but then again that doesn't seem to be Yuzu's style as he tends to commit to a layout and stick with it (and only YOLO if something goes wrong).
