  1. Apparently there are Yuzu fans waiting outside the venue overnight??? Just for seats tomorrow?? I hope they're keeping warm ): can't honestly say I support this but...wow
  2. Not gonna lie, I'm sure that's a super hard spin and it certainly looks painful but I wish he'd do something else bc it doesn't really look aesthetically pleasing...
  3. I rewatched and I think it was actually the hole he made with his free leg in the process of jumping the 3T (as opposed to where he landed it). Either way....
  4. only yuzu would 1) stumble in time with the music 2) trip over the hole he just made with his 4T
  5. Let's hope the 2s are gonna add up to become...1
  6. bless Mama Tracy and you for sharing the love from our Planet
  7. All good! I wasn't sure about 状態については仕上がりは過去最高 so hesitated about posting mine. This translation is more fluid than my line by line so i think this captures the key points better
  8. Oh sweet, Yuzu and Javi are both skating really early o:
  9. Basically you got the main points. Two key things: 4Lz always part of the plan (as predicted...these trolls). And glad they're being overly cautious about the knee pain - probably caused by training tiredness though (Better translation below)
  10. Oh...I think I know what you're going to say re: Shoma and Sendai - for me, it comes down to the fact that different skating 'institutions' have different traditions; I definitely think Sendai was more 'liberal', in a way, that matched well with Yuzu's personality (in a way I doubt the Nagoya skating culture, for example, could have done) but culture is still culture so there are definitely things Yuzu gained from moving out of his comfort zone and to Toronto. I think re: language, it goes to what he's said several times in the past of seeing Toronto as exclusively a place for training. It makes me a little sad but he doesn't seem to particularly want to 'put down roots' over there, so to speak, beyond his skating - everything he does is strictly for the former purpose. I feel like he'd be on the plane straight back to Japan the moment he decides to stop competing tbh, but I think it's this recent season that he seems to have been able to really strengthen emotional ties with his skating team and build a good system there; not quite 'home' but a 'skating home', which is good enough.* *take all with grain of salt, just general speculation
  11. I always wish I could somehow convey the gaping chasm between how Yuzu comes across in Japanese versus English because it kills me that Western media still perceives him essentially as a very polite, lowkey/meek boy and still get shocked when he shows a bit of that fire or personality. Honestly, he'd be even more loved if he let his Extra-ness and weird-ass humour shine a bit in English, the same way I imagine he gets criticised in Japan for it. I'm glad he's found an environment and coaching approach that encourages and nurtures his opinionated side and his quirks instead of suppressing it as they would likely do in Japan. While I do get the sense the coaches may still not fully appreciate just how much he thinks, it seems like they've found a middle ground which is promising. Anyway, calm down everyone. I know it's doubly bad because we've been deprived of 'true' Yuzu content for an off-season but just trust in Yuzu and Brian and their strategy ; u ; (also, new costumes yay!)
  12. Chinese TV documentary on Vincent - really interesting. Makes me really appreciate the sacrifice that families have to make, on top of how fragile an elite athlete's career can be (lowkey laughing over Vincent's mix of Chinese and English... such a typical Asian-American/Australian kid thing to do)
  13. I mean.......the inside of a tim tam maybe? (I'm Australian...can't see the resemblance either tbh)
  14. Sochi and Turin are my favourite medal designs. Really just beautiful~
  15. You're right, it's really more about who's wearing it
  16. They can art major BS all they want... it's a lazy design) (That being said, I'm just glad it's not the Salt Lake City one...what was going on there)
  17. quick screengrab of the Gold. I mean, it's pretty minimalist, perhaps a little underwhelming but it's fine (looking at the older medals...they could be worse lol)
  18. He even said 勝った (I won). Yuzu = Light confirmed
  19. I'm DYING at this editing. He looks like Light Yagami for real, especially since the last thing they cut him saying and then FRIKKIN EMPHASISED WITH OMINOUS SOUND ECHO was 'it was all within my calculations' (計算済みです、全部) anyway, his words don't really mean much out of context but what they chose to highlight was: 1. I was very angry with myself at that point 2. It was the first time I felt fear (narrator: the first time he felt fear in his skating life) 3. Narrator: he will also talk about his battle with injuries 4. The big narration words: 'HARDSHIPS! THE WORLD RECORD! THE SHOCKING TRUTH/REALITY' ...ty Japanese TV
  20. Found a fancam of the audience at Sochi when Yuzu broke 100 for the SP. Such a mix of delight and salt lmao
