I guess we can only tell once the season starts, but I think @xeyra is trying to say that we cannot bank on them calling his quad flip on underrotation or wrong edge because they haven't really done so much this last season, so it's better not to underestimate Shoma in regards to the GOE he can get. Also, I think everyone here still believe in Yuzu's ability, I mean, the planet hanyu exists because we adore his skating! But when we are talking about next season and specualting, I think we want to take into account other top player's increasing skills and judge's trend from last season too...hence the worry over possible threat. Overall, I think most people just want to prepare for the worst and hope for the best, not to put Yuzu down~

@meoima thanks for explaining the tech and trend of the ladies VS the men because I only watch the ladies casually and have only some idea of what happened. Btw, I see some Japanese ladies trying to up their BV by bringing the 3A, does this make them competitive enough for Medvedeva ? Or can we already assign the gold to her because she has the highest BV on paper and is consistent lol? @xeyra has made some really good table and speculation analysis over at the skating layout thread and those of you who are as curious as me about how next season MIGHT pan out should check it out! Thanks again for the quick work! But looking at that it confirms my fear that no 4Lz will be very risky for Yuzu with only 1.3 pt difference overall (BV+GOE+PCS) with Shoma...and I think Shoma 's PCS will rise this coming season too.. also, Nathan is not far behind, and his PCS will probably rise too with US fed at work... Ughhhh... All these talk and speculation is making me burn inside...Yuzu~~give us your FS and layout already pretty please~~

Trailing behind with only 1.3 point!!! And if the judges loves him even more this season (we already know his music choice is down their alley)+ if he gains momentum he could surpass Yuzu...

So most of you are saying that if Yuzu is clean for both SP and FS then there is no way he will loose? But what about what happened to Yuna Kim in Sochi? I didnt study her and Adelina's protocol... But to my understanding Yuna did well for both program, was the queen coming into the event yet still lost against politicking? And even though people protested the result, they never gave her the gold medal instead... So isn't it still possible that Yuzu will face the same situation? And we would be mad like we did for the underscoring for worlds but while Helsinki at least gave Yuzu a gold for all the unfair judging, who knows if the end result will still be okay for Olympic?...it was already a close call in Helsinki... Speaking of Helsinki, while we analyzed Nathan VS Yuzu to quite some extend now, I wonder if we can go in depth and analyze Shoma VS Yuzu? Because like some of you said, I actually think shoma might be a bigger threat due to the GOE and PCS he is getting... He is also upping his BV next season, and it looks like from the progression of this season, he stabilizes his jumps quickly (nevermind that they are slightly underrotated or wrong edge because the judges are obviously ignoring them and showering him with + GOE) . He also backloads jumps, has Yuzu as a mental buffer(he also seems very calm in real match even if he doesn't land his jumps in op), and according to Yuzu and stats, is the most consistent of the top 6 last season...so I am interested in seeing how their possible plans might compare this season...

Not necessarily... What comes to mind is Jason Brown skating to writing on the wall this season. It was with lyrics and not at all distracting. Sam Smith and Adele both have a very smooth, almost instrumental voice, so they might keep her voice. But skyfall has rich and complex instrumental...so the grand orchestra ensemble alone version would work great too I think!

Gosh blue compliments him so well! And even though he doesn't like beaches, the ocean from a far (and under shadow of a roof) seems okay for him haha There are many clothings which are both functional and charming, and with his great model-like porpotion of a body, he honestly can look good by just keeping things simple (like his UA and some clothes p&g and anan picked out for him!)

All the while delivering the atheltic aspect of the sport! They basically think he is an idol on and off ice and with no enemy other than himself! It's actually an old clip from a year ago according to the person who twitted... This person brought it out to commemorate Yuzu's healthy state as oppose to this time last year...where this clip is the first clip that fan sees of Yuzu skating in a looooong time after news of his injury. the person said she wanted to cry just remembering the hardship he faced and finally being able to see him skate happy... Yeah I agree with this... Yuzu being seen as number 1 comes with a price. With great power comes great responsibility. If you think about the responsibility and pressure that comes with Yuzu being THE ONE that everyone chases and wants to climb over, you wouldn't feel so bad that Javi is not in that position. Plus, Javi is sort of in that position being the 2x WC and number 1 in SP, before his free skate this last worlds championship, and just even a bit of the taste of that pressure was enough to cause him a number of mistakes to not podium. This is the amazing thing about Yuzu. He has the mentality to turn pressure into blessings, and make everyone else think it's easy doing what he is doing.

What's interesting about this interview is, after shoma said "King"is the one word that describes Yuzu in his mind, and Yuzu gave the above reaction, he went on to say that to him (Yuzu), "King" is always Plushenko, and to hear shoma say that Yuzu is king now, on the evening of the announcement of Plushenko's r****ment (this was filmed a few months back), makes him wonder and think deep about the meaning of this ... It just goes to show that each generation was influenced by different "King"(also ties into the GOAT discussion before, how Javi and Yuzu's generation will probably personally have a tendency to consider Plushy as GOAT) but the torch now has passed on from Plushy to Yuzu (and Yuzu realizing this)...

Hahahaha but the story behind it is kind of cute! Apparently the owner of the garden field made them all from scratch, the head and the face is made by sticking Yuzu's face cutout from a magazine to the back of a fried pan...and she/he gave the scarecrow Yuzu skating shoes too! The owner positioned Yuzu in a "come to me!" pose (But wouldn't that defy the purpose of scaring things away?) and gave Mao a microphone lol Scarecrow Yuzu and Mao were there since last year, and Satoko version was used the year before them haha
