General Skating Chat
AsteroidB-612 replied to Yatagarasu's topic in Knickknacks: General Skating Chat
Yeah I see that, and this is the reason why I even wanted to reply to you on this subject, because I can see that you are trying to be objective. But I am just expressing my personal frustration (can't speak for any else) concerning the situation of Shoma and Nathan here and not hating on them( unless seeing him in unfavable light is already counted as hate? ). So I kind of wish that you would not just use the word "hate train" to talk about fans here who may have voiced their concern or frustration with shoma as scores and jump technique and whatnot goes. Noone likes to be labeled, especially when we can't possible know who is being labeled.- 6,825 replies

General Skating Chat
AsteroidB-612 replied to Yatagarasu's topic in Knickknacks: General Skating Chat
You know hate is such a strong word and I don't know who you are referring to when you said that some of us are on a hate train but personally, I did not hate Shoma, and actually quite enjoyed his performances of LOCO at 4cc and world's last season. But the judging he received as of late really is making me see him in unfavable light more and more... It's easy to say not to blame the skater if it's the judging that's the problem, but can you fault another skater's fan for not being warm towards Shoma after they see this unfair treatment? If you look at how hard the uncles and Yuzu before him (and Deniss now) had to work for several seasons and competition to raise those PCS and GOE scores, isn't it only natural that fans of these skaters become resentful and salty when we see that the judges are throwing candies at a performance even shoma himself knew wasn't up to par(he said in the interview after that he missed some steps after jumps and the choreography didn't feel internalized yet )? If ISU is trying to raise popularity by flaming fan war with unfair judging, I think it will succeed this season if they keep on doing this kind of inflation for Shoma and Nathan.- 6,825 replies

General Skating Chat
AsteroidB-612 replied to Yatagarasu's topic in Knickknacks: General Skating Chat
Honestly, shoma's PCS irked me. I like his performances fine, but If the judges keep on handing out candies in PCS and GOE like this to him, he will never have to improve from his intense stare and upper body movement propelled cheography or his imperfect jump qualities ( not to mention that what he is good at, the performance and music interpretation aspect are not even up to par this time yet. He was stiff and not completely in tune with the music until that last spin!..And they are already giving him 9+? Wth) ...it's no wonder Javi finally had it at the end of last season and spoke up, discouraged about how the judging is making him think that all these years of training for better skating skill and stroking and transitions were a waste of time because accrording to the judges they see no difference between the top six's PCS as long as they land their quads.- 6,825 replies

Lol I love these P&G commercials.. they show a domestic albeit adorkable side of him because he is so new to chores lol... And like he said at the end of this commercials :" and the thing that caught my attention is...It's cute (kawaii!)" .... Indeed that's the thing that caught my attention too... Kawaii, Hanyu senshu. Omae mo (you are cute too)
-
And right when we are talking about US monetary influences over the Olympics and agenda to push their favs too.. Show us another miracle against the machine, Yuzu and skating god, please....

My thought exactly when I saw that photo...I mean, I sort of have an idea of how outrageous it could be when reading the description...But the actual photo is beyond my imagination lol (no wonder they didn't print it hahahah yamaguchi san's face has to be censored!)...This flirty lil devil omg I can't. It's very cute that he is so touchy feely with the people he trust.. haha get ready fior some PDA guys for when he gets his partner lol

I believe this has been brought up before...But I think the " aquired taste" really depends on people (I think the argument of nationality and culture was pretty valid too), because I am the exactly opposite of you. LGC drew me in and captured MY attention from day 1, while I only grew to like Chopin after I become a true fan and watched it more and learn to appreciate the delicacy of it... LGC not being the stereotype classic piece and having tons of memorable signature moves ( the zusa! The high kick! I think people/kids being able to copy the poses brings popularity quickly! Ex: pistol pose of PW ) really captivated me on first viewing...Whereas after I watched Chopin the first time, I honestly can't remember any move from it (I just rememberes that it was pretty~)so Chopin was the "aquired taste" for me...But then again, I also really like PW upon first viewing, and Yuna Kim's first memorable program for me was her Bond program... So I guess I am just a sucker for more western, pop culture associated , outwardly exciting type of program~ (which is why I think LGC will draw casual viewers attention too...Le sigh.. what could have been....) But at the end of the day, Yuzu has to deliver a clean program with good flow to capture attention and garner more support, so Chopin in his state now gives him the most probability to achieve that, so I am still behind his decision but I am glad to hear that he really considered LGC seriously and recognize his own strength and charisma in these type of program (LGC & PW)...So hopefully we will see more flaunting of his "rough masculinity " later haha P.S. I think he can do a tango well now, after the initiation of LGC

Oh man... I feel like I can bond with Sora kun over Yuzu soooo much... Mission impossible was one of my favorite junior program from Yuzu!!! And more new footage of coach Yuzu...gosh he is killing me over and over again with his tender words of advice and caring(though demanding) teaching style!! At this point I have accepted the fact that Mr. Hanyu is an angel and have invisible wings on his back.how else would one explain his unbelievable jump and rotation even on land? And his kind heart? And his blinding beauty?

(How is Yamaguchi san still alive and manage to finish that report after that move Zuzu pull? I am dizzy just thinking about it...)

Speaking like our favorite troll, yuzuru! (Yuzu: just 2 more revolutions! Also Yuzu: Just 17 more cm!) God I love his humour ! (even though it makes us fanyu and Brian loose our hair hahah )

Can I just say it here because I can't hold it in anymore ... I respect and love Yuzuru Hanyu so much... after I saw that segment about how Yuzu fights his asthma with such will ( having an attack as recently as just two weeks before his miraculous performance in Helsinki even...)I have even more new found love and respect for this amazing human being. He never once complain about it, making everyone think that he is an alien with the beauty and perfection on ice he created...but is actually just very very brave and hardworking and persevering. his performance this time is so touching and beautiful because he is determined to pass down his experience to encourage the skating kid who also has asthma with his own skating...

Omg omg more Yuzu sensei and this time one-on-one teaching of a kid who can jump!!! And matching UA outfit I can see him as a strict but awesome coach in the future! Look how he improved the kid's 2t!! Honestly they better show more footage of the teaching! Cuteness and fierceness of coach zuzu with shy boy student ~~ come on NTV!!!

Haha yeah... He seems to be very flirty and playful but only with a handful photographer and reporters he is familiar with though...Like Noto san and now Yamguchi san (but I think the teasing of Yamguchi san is only recently in this new article? Welcome to the club of playthings of Do S troll Lord Zuzuru, Yamguchi san!) I think he has refrained himself with the female reporters to avoid causing mass hysteria lol and also reporters who are not constantly doing reports of him or those who writes dubious shady comments of him ( like that Hara san from Nekkei News) probably don't get the special flirty Hanyu treatment and just get his polite but routine media mannerism.
-
I think the Yamguchi that recent twitter fans are talking about is Yamguchi shinichi 山口真一 , who write s for BBMook published figureskate magazine. I think I talked about him several time on this chat because he writes veeeeeery detail articles and reports on Yuzu and also interview people who support him very earnestly (he is the one who wrote the interview with yuzu's blade sharpener/Nanami's sensei’s husband Yoshida san ) From his words you can really tell his love and passion for Yuzu (he was initially name-called by by other reporter who is probably jealous of the rising sale of the magazine by saying he is a stalker who terrorizing with too detail of report on Yuzu but now it has become a joke he talk about himself)... And recently he also went to Toronto for open practice media day and I think the magazine with the report just came out and he probably gushed about Yuzu again ( and from the tidbits I see, Yuzu probably knows that he is friendly towards him so he is playful around him now ) I highly encourage any Fanyu who can read or is learning Japanese to buy Figureskate Magazine and read his articles!

But..but there are children there! Isn't this 22 yo version of PW and Chopin a little too stimulating for the young minds lol But jokes asides it's pretty awesome that they have a big screen showing of zuzu skating at the rink! This can be very inspirational for the people learning to skate! Re:balancing skating obsession with real life It's hard, but thanks to the invention of smart phones I can be updated with Yuzu news while out with friends so that helped a little(I even streamed 4cc SP during an outing lol..my friends just think it's pretty funny that I am this obsessed but they let me have my five minute with Yuzu when he skated hahah)... but reading time does lessen for me too (unless it's reading Japanese biography of a certain skater )
-
You know, looking at picture of Johnny and Yuzu makes me glad that Yuzu adores both Plushy AND Johnny... I think it really speaks volume about his ideal skating. How he wants to embrace both the fierce quads (some may say more "yang" (陽) or masculine side of skating )and the fluid graceful artisitry (the more "ying"(陰) or feminine side of skating ). How fitting that he is portraying Onmyouji(陰陽師), basically a wizard who is familiar with the Ying and the Yang and can blend and utilizes power of both, to bring us his ideal skate!

Lol finally caught up on all the recent news and discussions and just in time for a shallow but fun ranking of beautiful FS men! Here is my 2 cents: 1) Zuzu Lord of troll and keeper of my heart atm!!! His perfect proportion and skin and beautiful andronous face and expression and body....If I elaborate more I might need to go to the naughty corner haha (but can't u see the attractiveness after the LGC initiation...I love that hair (amongst other things)on him okay? Lol) 2)Javi (classic Spanish charm with that long eyelashes and gorgeous eyes! But only when not in janitor clothes and fake mustache haha) 3)Nathan (he has an adorable cocky air about him and can be surprisingly mature looking (some Japanese pp agree that he has a showa period (old time) sort of manliness lol)...but he should get his curls under control haha) 4) shoma/Patrick/Boyang (there are just little things about them that make them less attractive to me...like shoma's height just make him seem more like a kid to me ...he has nice eyes but I am not so attracted to the cutesy button nose? And Patrick's deer in the headlight eyes kind just makes me want to laugh everytime even though he does have pretty nice body lol and Boyang is a bit to skinny and kid like to me too but he does have almost Yuzu level fair skin to his advantage...so so far they just sit here unsorted for me...but things can change, sometimes all it takes is just the right photo/program/lighting/expression for attraction to happen~)

General Skating Chat
AsteroidB-612 replied to Yatagarasu's topic in Knickknacks: General Skating Chat
Well... I am starting to think that there is no misdirection, and he will just not have the 4lutz.. because from what he has said thus far and his choice of Chopin and Seimei, his strategy seems to be aiming for consistency and comfort with the programs (like doing normal breathing instead of jumping quads )over risking injury and uncleanliness ... The cleanliness in women singles competition when he watched WTT probably gave him much thoughts(and the fact that he got his WRs from clean performances AND how kuyashiii he was after his last unclean olympic FS probably plays into his decisions as well) Since 4lutz , though not a novelty, will still be a new jump for him, I am leaning towards him not changing his layout from what he chanted to the reporters in that article...no matter how small an upgrade from 3A to 4T is and how large of a BV diffence it is with his competitiors.- 6,825 replies

You know, honestly, from the way he speaks about Seimei, it sounded like he intended to repeat , showcase (many casual viewers will be seeing it for the first time and I think he wants to impress them with his best) and maybe revenge it ( after Boston 2016) after 15~16 season and it’ s his LGC SP that threw him off (I get a feeling that had he not have so much trouble with it during the latter half of last season, it would have been a LGC repeat instead of Chopin...) Chopin is called upon to regain his confident in SP probably...but he needs to do whatever he needs to do to win the mental game here honestly, because he is carrying so much pressure, so I have come to term with three peat Chopin too. But Horaaay Seimei!!!!(I wish we have seimei emoticons haha )..and now I am celebrating with the seimei theme! I love how PH has the best customized fanyu tidbits

Lol i remember how last time that turned out ...

http://talent.weeker.jp/epg/detail/2000548626_385 I looked at the program review for News Every that will broadcast at 15:30~19:00 Japan time and Yuzu's new FS layout news still seems to be there? So maybe there is still some hope of news? (Or maybe they Will remove it 30min before the show again...)
