Yuzu is important cuz he inspires so many other people to better versions of themselves in a way, he inspires talents, you want to be at least just a bit more hardworking looking at him, he shows you that you can make your dreams come true if you wish and work for it hard enough. And he is a very sunshine person - so until such people are in this world it's not completely corrupted and wasted)) But first of all I become drowned to his skating cuz he put all his soul into this and it didn't change since then.

I still remember how crazy arena went after this (and on the final spin)
-
Yeah, the drought is real (trying hard not to complain it was great "off-season") Actually I don't like such polls cuz every performance is special in it's own way
-
It's a really close call, I've said 2017 WC FS but it's cuz I was in the arena so makes it a little more personal
-
Oh, I love the fierce Dory but white t-shirt? why?!

I made some scans from Dancin'on The Edge magazine cuz there're some really cute photos form PC that I didn't saw before so decided to share during this drought period https://www.amazon.co.jp/Dancinon-Edge-平昌フィギュア報道写真集-スポーツニッポン新聞社/dp/B07D4ZP9N8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1534968829&sr=8-3&keywords=dancing+on+the+edge I know that not everybody is OK with sharing magazine's stuff so admins can feel free to delete the post if needed https://www.flickr.com/photos/156337619@N03/albums/72157700169564954

I agree. And actually it doesn't bother me that smb. doesn't consider Yuzu the GOAT, my mother is a great example She thinks Plushenko was great cuz he was very stable (not like boys now ), also she thinks that Boyang and Chen are cool cuz of a lot of quads and that it is really hard (and she was doing skating herself in school so she's not just a causal viewer). Of course she agrees that Yuzu is very good skater and skates beautifully, but I don't think she considers him the best ever and I'm OK with it, to each their own I think FS still is a subjective sport after all.

But HYK is a piano peace so can be used internationally like Requiem, my main reason for it to be an EX is the too exquisite costume for it to be just a show number (though it still needs recorded piano version)

I agree. At one point I get the idea: there're always arguments what is more important - TES or artistry and now every party will have there own programme and I think they should have separate medals + combined one. But it will be another sport then. And don't know about will it increase popularity or not cuz artistic programme will be closer to ID and I think it's less popular event in FS right now (I don't even want to peak about judging).

I also was 100% sure after Shoma's fall cuz Yuzu left some good points on the table with 4T combo mistake so still couldn't celebrate fully after his skate even if I knew he's almost there.

If I'll see Yuzu as character of Hakuoki one day I'll die on the spot Just imagined Saito's or Toshi's murderous stare

I don't need it either though sometimes it's nice to listen, especially if you know the person is really professional like when they invited Tracy for comments or it was nice to listen to TAT in PC (though she can be very biased). I'd gladly listen ID with professional comments cuz I still don't understand a thing in it - the problem is even athletes rarely have professional/interesting comments in ID.

I think he jumped it in practice all right before the problem was in comps. But looks nice, hope he can stable it (4Lz fall costs much less now)

I would like to know the exact question maybe it was about sport... Hard to say... First are surely football and hockey, biathlon in winter, but FS is quite OK, not like in Japan but much more popular than in many other countries, arena for CoR is almost full in last years (without Yuzu), Nationals are also popular within the audiences (but bad TV coverage on main channels).
-
Not odd at all. I agree that everything from now on is extra bonus, though I'm sure Yuzu will still want to win when he takes the center of the ice before the programme - it's just in his blood. And also every year I think that he's so great already but then every year he shows that he can be better and have more potential to improve. I'm just happy that he still wants to show us this improvement in competition mode.

Heard this shocking news in the office on the radio today - still can't quite believe it. A reminder how cruel this world can be. My deepest condolences to his parents, family and friends.

Oh... And I really liked some of their programmes and their skating, especially when they were in good form

2018/2019 Season Program Announcements
Lunna replied to kaeryth's topic in Knickknacks: General Skating Chat
My problem is... I doubt the choreo will be interesting, the most interesting for me is Loco still and it was not a warhorse I'm kinda chill about media day (less chill about GP tickets sales) The programs must be new and I believe Yuzu will choose what's best for him (even if I'm not into the music from the start like with H&L) -
so under spoiler As for Yuzu drinking or not I don't really care - he can do whatever he likes. And I have a friend which started to like alcohol only after her 30th birthday, so Yuzu has plenty of time (if he can't really drink then it's not the biggest problem there are a lot of other things in life to enjoy). Though all the insights about why Asian people are not in a good terms with alcohol was interesting - never heard of that (especially about Japanese seeing in movies/hearing from others how it can be normal to go for a drink with colleagues after work - like it can be a must and to decline will not be polite).

Now I know that Fedor is J.Tarasova's bf and by gossip he wanted to leave sport last year already, well, if that's the case good luck to Ksenia. Russian FS drama can't have off-season...
-
Russian forums are on fire with this gossip but still not everybody believes it until there's something official. Also not everybody is sure it's Novoselov and even if it's him he made new programs with his old partner just this June.

The groups before the last were good, Kazuki was great, Dima not best but OK, Messing fell but was fun to watch, during Boyang I wanted to close my eyes when he flew into the boards cheered for Shoma - that was really a fighting skate, but Nathan I dunno... at CoR it looked OK, but during Milano I was already bored by that FS.

Way to go ISU of course without Yuzu competing I will not spend tons of money for travelling aboard, but I will still watch it on TV and go to FS comps in my country. Good job for turning away long-time FS fans. If I'll want artistic programm I'll better watch ice shows.
