  1. Yuzu talked about the free skate and his and Nathan's scores (?). I hope someone will translate it soon. ETA: Pino uploaded it on YT:
  2. Part of this interview with Eteri for the Russian TV has been translated here: https://fs-gossips.com/eteri-tutberidze-once-you-step-off-the-podium-youre-nobody/
  3. No one, it'd be too risky
  4. You're right! Who'd do 3A or 2A and then 4A as a solo jump?
  5. Yes, that's what I meant. It'd be allowed in a combination but no one would do that lol
  6. Not allowed, only 2A or 3A
  7. A 4A in the SP wouldn't be realistic. If someone goes for a new and difficult jump first they always try it in the free program. But because no one ever tried a 4A (well except Dmitriev...) a rule like that in the SP is just not necessary now. Maybe in many years when more guys start jumping the 4A they'll change the rule but it won't be any time soon.
  8. Let's wait and see. Her 3S is one of the best, if not the best in the ladies field, maybe her quad will be good enough, too.
  9. It had more than 3.7 million views I took this screenshot around three weeks before the video was deleted...
  10. This is not April Fools', Aliev jumped 4T-3A at practice
  11. Today it the second anniversary of Yuzuru's world record breaking Hope and Legacy free skate in Helsinki and his second gold medal at the World Championships. What a magical performance it was... Hope and Legacy remains the most complex and difficult free skate ever which perfectly combined the highest technique with the most amazing artistry. No one can touch that 223.20 points which will forever remain the historical record for the free skate. (and which score is probably the most underscored world record in the history of the new judging system Still can't get over that none of those perfect elements got +3 GOE....) CBC version, ITA Eurosport, no commentary, best fancam
  12. Thank you so much for the translation @Rainbow! It amazes me that Sota only started to practice 4T one week before Japanese Nationals and he landed it at the competition I hope we'll see many beautiful skates from him next season, too.
  13. Rosnik is a former ice dancer and he's a coach now (one of his students is a junior skater, you may remember her because of this unique move:) So he knows what he's talking about when it comes to technique. It was nice to hear that he assumed Yuzu would have got 10+ higher PCS had Nathan skated a technically similar program (they knew about the 13 difference after the SP). I don't think they closely follow international scores throughout the season, they just thought Yuzu was that much better in components and there'd be a big difference in PCS between him and Nathan. He was also the commentator at Helsinki Worlds and he praised Yuzu's skating highly, saying things like his greatness, whether it's technique or his aristry can't be questioned, his skating & his jumps are completely effortless and he praised Yuzu's transitions and the amount of one-foot skating. Then he added that H&L as a program was a piece of art (but not just that, he also said during the wam-up that Yuzu's costume was art). I liked their commentaries, they were much better than the biased ladies on Eurosport.
  14. This is sad that there's not even a single mention of Yuzu's injury, or that he's also a university student, not to mention that if someone who doesn't follow the sport reads this article might have the impression that Nathan is on the same level artistically as Yuzu.

World Team Trophy 2019 Fukuoka / JPN 11 - 14 April The top six International Skating Union members are invited to compete in a team format with points awarded based on skaters' placement. Participating countries selected two men's single skaters, two ladies' single skaters, one pair, and one ice dance entry for their team. The discussion thread can be found here. Full schedule of the event can be found here.
  16. Thank you for the correction!
  17. Yuna won her first World Championships gold medal 10 years ago today! Her Dance Macabre SP remains one of my favourite SPs ever - at Worlds she skated a 76.12 which was a world record at that time. Her Schcherazade LP is also one of my favourite free programs ever. She was so superior at that time that even with a popped Salchow and an invalid spin, she got 131 points in the free skate.
