Seriously?!

Seriously, I was flabbergasted. The debate descended into:

a) Different feds debating about whether or not their rink could play CDs vs USBs

b) debate about moving into the future and digital formats and digital streams and ways to broadcast the music

c) Formats and what happens if certain digital formats cannot be played

With some suggestions that there is a phase in period, and even concern about back up formats (side note, ISU why don't you guys just say we can have CDs and USBs as acceptable backups?!).

That sounds very much like the rest of it. I gave up after a while today, it's all so... meandering and spiraling and getting nowhere!

And all of those 'this was brought before the Congress 1640307 years ago and was not passed' as postscripts to proposals. Wonderful justification, and anyway, maybe it wasn't passed because 75% of proposals were withdrawn! Like this time! I wanted to scream.

I might actually have screamed and startled the dogs.

Go walk the dogs....give them treats.

I'm just listening to this as a practice to control my patience/temper. =D

You have to be very careful with technology- you never know where it will end.  The cautious limited use of slo mo replay demonstrates that the ISU is committed to careful and judicious introduction of technology at the pace of a glacier so as not to startle the dinosaurs.  We're lucky that they allow CDs - I bet some of them would prefer a gramophone - or perhaps a string quartet.

Well considering words can be music, if they allow a string quartet or live orchestras to play at competitions, I'd love to see someone select rap and we get a new music type-orchestral rap. Now that's innovation in the arts!

I was only listening with one ear, but somebody actually said something like well, USB sticks are all the rage now, but I can guarantee that at the next congress that technology will already be outdated again  I'm truly shocked that they publish their communications as PDF files and don't send out engraved stone plates

Considering the blackout at 4CC gala I suppose some of the arenas electricity systems wouldn't cope with an amped up rock group....pity.

I bet there's a superannuated shorthand writer taking the notes of the conference in that room somewhere - can't rely on this newfangled electronic recording you know.

I propose they also follow the courts system where you have a court artist painting the scenes and reactions of the various delegates. =D
