Hmm I've been also thinking about music but i'm not much of a warhorse person. (Carmina Burana...blergh)

Idk but I like it when a skater steps outside the box a bit to shake things up at least. (tho i am partial to Tango de Roxanne but we're probably gonna hear it this year over 1347391434719 times)

Weirdly i've been thinking about atmospheric type stuff

i reckon it'll be good for yuzu to do a rock number for his EX

 

for FS, maybe something beautiful but powerful and dramatic (cuz judges like that)

but still must be beautiful because that's the most special thing about yuzu's skating

 

for SP, i actually really liked let's go crazy

 

so maybe something upbeat for SP, beautiful and intense for FS, and a rockstar number for EX

 

that way it showcases all of yuzu's ability and variety

Regarding LGC, which I also really liked, I read somewhere that at Worlds, Yuzu was saddened/affected by the anniversary of Prince's death and was thinking about that before/during/after the skate?

I forgot about that until I got home today and found a new You Tube video of him before and during the warm up for LGC. He looks really grim in it. I've seen him serious and intense, but this looked more somehow. Maybe I'm just reading more into it.

Anyway, maybe he should avoid songs by contemporary musicians?

Just a thought.

Turandot is a great choice. Yuzu will need something similarly epic that's easy to sell. At least he knows exactly what he's going to be up against before making final decisions about his Olympic season FS.

I am looking forward to Yuzu choosing a warrior-like music for his fs next season, it would fit the theme of the Olympics the most.

 

However, for his exhibition and even possibly the sp, either Brahms Symphony #3 in F, movement III or Adagio of Spartacus and Phrygia" Khachaturian would be terrific imo.

 

He can definitely use a piano solo arrangement if he likes the timbre of the piano better than an orchestration. I wouldn't mind at all.

He's the only man in this field that makes classics/romantics work for me. But who knows, I usually don't listen to rock n roll and he made it work for me nevertheless lol.

the part when he looks up and apologizes after the program still haunts me tbh...

i'm pretty sure i teared up a bit while watching it live. he looked so crestfallen ;; i was honestly worried all day

 

which is why seeing him smile before the free skate was such a relief

during that i did cry, almost the entire way through

they were tears of happiness though, so it's okay

I've always imagined Yuzuru skating to Chopin's funeral march with a black costume with lots of shiny rhinestones

Not a serious suggestion, but I've always wondered what a program to La Campanella(the piano arrangement, not the orchestra) would look like.

 

That aside I would love to see Yuzuru skate to anything by Akio Yashiro. His work has a lot of tension and quiet build up that I think Yuzuru pulls off well(looking at Seimei). His Piano Concerto especially has all sorts of tense, eerie vibes :s_yes

Ah I love music talks, I always end up with new music stuck in my head. For Yuzuru I really want him to skate something from Game of thrones especially Light of the seven, if the olympic season wants drama then it's perfect. I know it was Polina's SP this season but I think this version from City of prague philharmonic orchestra is even better than the tv version she used. :love:

I don't want Yuzu yo do such a warhorse... I would like him to do somethjng unique, there's no shortage of epic sound in movies and especially video games (:cough:One Winged Angel: cough:) but if he needs to go a more clasdical route...

 

How about Dvorak's 9th symphony, " From the New World" including this part:

(on a completely unrelated note: Karajan must have been really hot when he was young, I had no idea) It's classical, which should please the judges, not overplayed (I don't think I ever heard it done on ice in my limited time as a fan) amd maxes out the epicness scale.

 

(and if he wanted to br more svant garde, he could mash it up with the metal version
