I am surprised by the low count of Carmina Burana.

Imagine if the draw were to put a batch of warhorses together in a group- 5 consecutive MRs or LLL  - it occurred to me yesterday when we had quite a few Louis Armstrongs

I also have found a bunch of Romeo and Juliet programs I missed. So R+J count is now also 20, tied to LLL.

I didn't really have a good look at that list before, but wow, that's mind-blowing. Can't believe you're keeping score of all that!

I guess I'm in luck this year, when I look at the top ten of warhorses, only nr. 9 really annoys the heck out of me (and I really do mute the music nowadays when Les Mis appears). 

 

At what point does music become a warhorse? I am starting to get the feeling that (at least in juniors), Cats is fast getting to be overused too, especially "Memory". Must be Alisa Fedichkina's influence...

I think there are warhorses that are universally recognized as warhorses (the more classical pieces). And then are the seasonal warhorses, of which LLL, MR, Hallellujah and Einaudi have become for this season. 

I can put up with most of the classical ones, it's the musicals that I can't abide, probably because one of my children is a big fan and having Phantom or Les Mis on repeat during exam times really wears out your tolerance.  You've no idea how big a tribute it is to YH that I love his Phantom and wish it had been done the way he intended just once, because apart from him the opening phrase of pretty much any part of it sends me screaming for the hills.

 

Can someone post the olympic channel link again, please. If they're streaming there too, it might be the only way for me to catch the ladies SP this afternoon.
