My memories of ACI

1. Costume reveals and scream　of course. 
2. Security guard solely hired every year to protect Yuzu
    (Jfanyus called these guys "Bob" whoever they were. Reason unknown.)
3. First quad loop ratified.
4. Roman holding on to Yuzu's waist. 
5. "Mom, I've got 2 right gloves!" incident.
6. Keegan holding JPN flag during VC. Love him.

Also, if you're trying to get caught up on ACI, save time and only watch the final group of the women's Free Skate - they were amazing! And Kaiya Ruiter nailed it perfectly - not bad for her first senior competition!

and if will we talk about the curse of 2 silver medals per season - it was perfect moment (the second silver medal was during CoR and then of course gold during Oly)

How's Ilia live BTW? I've heard all the touting from all corners about how great his programs are this season and how much he has improved, but what I saw on the archived videos tell a different story, at least with the SP: 1) He has such long limbs but it's like he doesn't know what to do with them most of the time, 2) he doesn't seem to know how to bend his knees and so his lack of flow takes away the excitement (or lack thereof) from his programs, 3) his jump combos still look like they don't have any flow inbetween and out.

 

For all his claims on focusing on artistry, I don't think I have seen that much improvement that Hackie and the Redditors and Golden Skaters claim just yet. 

 

PS: The fact that he skates to the Succession OST but doesn't really know what's it about nor hasn't watched it yet bothers me immensely. He performs the program because that's what SLB gave him. How can he portray something without even knowing what it is? 

MK had a rough time at ACI this year, I hope they are Ok. Both were unbelievably tense and not half as bubbly and joyful as usual. The pressure got to them? 
Kaori is in a pretty good shape for this time of the year, hope she continues her upward curve. The jumps were beautiful. And she’s got two really beautiful programs. The Canadian girls were a pleasant surprise too. 
Didn’t watch the dances, the boys were chaotic, apart from Malinin. He is improving, but not as fast as his scores, I am afraid. What got into that Japanese judge who awarded his SP with a 10? Is that what perfection looks like? Fuming.
